I thought there was some clock that you had to enroll within 5 years of HS graduation to have any eligibility. I remember hearing/reading about this when Weinke won the Heisman, and he was going to be one of the last ones that would be able to do this. Did this restriction get removed as well with the NCAA having their backside handed to them with transfers and NLI?

She needs to be gone yesterday. I wish I knew more about what process is there for this to happen. I've read where there isn't much at all. The judge has ultimate power. But, there has to be some process over a judge at this level.

Cannon pointed to pending questions about how classified information will be handled in the high-profile trial of the former president, and “additional pretrial and trial preparations necessary to present this case to a jury.” To move forward with the trial in May would be “inconsistent with the Court’s duty to fully and fairly consider” those issues, she wrote. “The Court therefore vacates the current May 20, 2024, trial date (and associated calendar call), to be reset by separate order following resolution of the matters before the Court, consistent with Defendants’ right to due process and the public’s interest in the fair and efficient administration of justice,” Cannon ruled.

100% agree! If the games are on TNT, and the first game is running long, move the start of the second game to TBS and bump whatever rerun of Law & Order is playing. ESPN can at least move the start of game 2 one of their other channels. Imagine if the Pacers/Knicks ended up going to OT, you would have potentially missed 1/3 of the game, just a complete disservice to the fans that want to watch that game.

I don't know of any regulations that would have prevented this. But, companies that allow this need to have major consequences. There are lots or people who think those rules shouldn't exist or be greatly reduced. There are people who think the EPA should be disbanded because they are horrible and we don't need them. I'm showing an example of where these laws and the EPA is needed.

That was my next question. What has our defense done? They were decent last year overall. But, they have room for improvement in getting turnovers.

Turnovers is one area that can take a huge jump in one direction in one year. It's frustrating that it's been a problem for Nebraska for so long. But, we have a coaching staff in their second year. Their first year, the turnovers were mostly from the QB position. This year, we are going to have a completely different QB situation. Can I guarantee it's going to improve? No. But, there's a lot of potential for it to changing. This staff knows what needed to change. They made one bad guess on a transfer QB that ended up being the extreme mirror image of what the Nebraska QB position has been for so long. It was a kick in the nuts. Then he gets hurt and a guy tried really hard to fill in, but couldn't succeed. I respect the hell out of what HE did last year. He's original QB1 from last year is gone. We have two freshman QBs that have great potential to be nowhere close to the turnover machine he was. We have potential to see a big improvement in turnovers this year.

My thoughts exactly. We were -17 (#129) in turnover margin. I don't expect to magically vault into positive territory this season. But if we can get it down to a single digit deficit it will go a long ways in getting to six wins and having a successful season. And the defense needs to do a better job too. 14 takeaways sounds OK until you realize we were tied at #103. Top teams are in the high 20's.

What regulations that are in place are so weak that companies like Tyson just blow them off and chalk up any fines to the cost of doing business. Imagine the green light given to industries when the EPA is completely neutered under another Trump regime.

The reason why I prefer to see the Huskers play at 11am.... And hate when they play at 230pm.........Is the Networks And with the same tradition and format, the NBA screws the viewers the same way. Grrrrr Games are scheduled 2hrs and 30mins between games...... But aired on the same network/station. Grrrrr I don't like missing part of the first quarter because the previous game is dragging on with timeouts or overtime or post game interviews. I get amped up for the tipoff/kickoff.....for days..... But we get joined "in progress" halfway into the 1st quarter.... Grrrrr There has to be a better way to broadcast these back to back games. No offense to the previous game, but my whole day or week is amped up for the other game...... And you screwed me out of seeing the kickoff and tipoff.... /Vent

I care about fixing the things that were bad last year and making the things that were good, better. In that vein, a lot of what we did this spring were plays we ran last year. Those plays were run so much cleaner this spring. The execution was by no means perfect, but the proof of concept that we can fix these things is on tape. It's now a question of taking the confidence gained this spring in knowing we can execute and refining that through summer workouts and fall camp. I don't think securing the football is a talent issue. Put two hands on the ball, they rip it free....those things happen at times. Watching your QB dangle the football out like he's feeding a horse some carrots, that's just not acceptable on any level.

Because turnovers regress to the mean so heavily year over year, they're actually one of the best predictors for this sort of thing....in both directions. If you have a team that won more games than otherwise expected but they had a large positive turnover margin or lost more games than otherwise expected because of a large negative turnover then they are strong candidates for their record to also regress to the mean the following year.
