  1. I'd like to see us play Oregon in the rose bowl if we get there. Or Boise. Call me crazy, but I'd love it for NU to be the team to put Boise State's bowl success to a long-awaited end.
  2. I'll just throw this out there: it's not an option because if we don't win the B1G, it is highly unlikely that we would get a BCS bid given the perception of the conference.
  3. Absolutely. It's good to have if we ever do face passing teams such as MSU and NW. So yes, I would think that we would play in it for the entire Northwestern game, as well as the Michigan game. For Iowa and Penn State, I would think we would stand Eric Martin up and go big.
  4. NO. And thankfully so. The last thing we need is to undeservedly make it to the national championship and get crushed, sending our team in a downward spiral. (IDK if that would happen if we lost badly, just trying to get my point across). I would rather we earn our way there and be able to compete instead of making it there because nobody else is good enough and then get crushed. I think the true NC game this year will probably be played next weekend.
  5. mwj98, I have the same thoughts. We beat the piss out of them, and according to every ESPN analyst, it was due to MSU's hangover, not how well we played. It's a little bit ridiculous, but I guess I'm used to it. They do the exact opposite for the SEC. If one of the top SEC teams loses, it's because their conference is just too competitive, and the punishment that they have to endure week after week is just too much to deal with. This year, there are 2 good teams in the SEC and any other team in the conference could and probably would get beat by any team who has a winning record at this point in the season. On the other hand, they have earned their reputation by winning championships, so that's what we need to do. Win the B1G championship this year and for years in the future and hopefully snag a national championship or two in the next 5-10 years
  6. As much as he deserves it, I don't think he's flashy enough to win it, though it is stupid because as far as consistency goes, he's probably the best in the nation game in and game out.
  7. 1) Pelini knew what he was talking about all along 2) We CAN win the B1G. THIS YEAR!!! 3) If I were a QB, no matter how good, I would never throw the ball at my receiver if he is being defended by Fonzo, even if my guy looked WIDE open. 4) Lance Thorell can play solid football 5) Andrew Green doesn't suck!!! 6) Our O-Line can push around any team in the country at times. Give em another year or two with our young monsters comin up and that's scary for opponents! 7) We have MSU's number!
  8. It began with Adi Kunalic sending so many kickoffs through the back of the endzone, and I actually wondered if this would continue this year since he is no longer here. I'm glad it did cuz I like it!
  9. Clemson in the Gator Bowl... Was it 2008? Bo's first year? Whenever it was, that was a pretty good game against a pretty good Clemson team.
  10. My buddy said that Rob Ryan does it at Dallas and calls it the amoeba defense. Take that for what it's worth. Seemed to work pretty well!
  11. REX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. I actually really like Urban as an announcer. You get somebody who actually knows what they are talking about in comparison with pretty much every other announcing crew.
  13. Oh I see. You're probably right but you never know. He's been playing WAY better than any of our other options at CB
  14. So I'm sittin here watching ESPN Gameday, and they just said that SJB injured his knee on Monday and is unlikely to start. Maybe I'm overreacting, but this is BAD news! We finally find somebody who can play good at corner, and then he tweaks his knee. They said he will play, but still... Ugh!
  15. So I know we probably won't get him, but here's a link for his post-game interview after his record-breaking 303-yard 4-TD game: http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=7161043
  16. Looks right now like these teams will get BCS bids: Bama LSU Stanford (assuming they either win out or lose only one game to Oregon) Oregon (if they beat Stanford. If not, could be a stretch...) B1G champion (Wisconsin, NU, MSU?) Clemson Big East Champion (Cincinnati? WV? Who knows...) Boise State Okie State Oklahoma Looks like we would have to win the B1G to get to a BCS bowl, given the national perception of our conference... We had a chance for Wisconsin to win out the regular season, then if NU or MSU were to have beaten them in the CCG, that would have been potential to override the Big12 for an at-large bid, or possibly Boise... Needless to say, it's a mess right now, and the only way we can sort it out is to wait for the rest of the season.
  17. You could try calling the bars that you are thinking about going to and ask them when they open on Saturday,....
  18. Miami, Ohio State, USC, Florida, Alabama, Texas, Oklahoma, LSU. All these come to my mind as teams that could put a heck of a football team on the field.
  19. Not to mention the yards that we left out on the field with those long pass plays that dropped through the bread basket of our WRs, but then again if the WRs were to have one bad game this year, that was the game I would have chose them to have it.
  20. I would have to say that Hightower from Bama wins this award, the dude is awesome! LaVonte is awesome too, but I don't see him beating out Hightower.
  21. Kenny fires back with some pretty good comebacks haha. Smart kid!
