  1. Ya, I’m not sure I’ve seen ANYTHING from the boys back there fielding punts and kickoffs that leads me to believe they currently possess the proper judgement to be responsible for deciding if a return attempt would be a wise decision or not. I also haven’t seen anything to make me think there is any chance if magic happening out of said athletes. As such, let start small and just concentrate on making smart fair catches, catching said fair catches, and letting things that hit inside the 5 bounce.
  2. I can see at least 85 reasons we might not beat Purdue.
  3. You can’t scheme your way around this that deficiency, it’s too massive. You don’t bail on your entire identity based on the fact that you have a group of unpolished clowns in your locker room. At that point the problem isn’t what you are trying to do, it’s who you have trying to do it. These boys weren’t lights out in a pro system either. Clean house? I mean if you see a starter out there half assing it,you bench him. Which likely means his replacement will perform even worse next week. You take your lumps and make your point. Then you build from there. As fans. We have to be willing to watch the gore, cuz it will be ugly. But it provides a solid ass foundation to build on and to build on quickly.
  4. He cleans house and keeps doing things his way. If we look like this years 3 and 4 we can talk about scheme changes. Until then you’re just being unfair.
  5. I’ll say this once. You can’t squeeze water from an onion. Across the board we are young. There are new schemes in every aspect of the game. They have way more talent than us at every position. Finally, we have a beaten dog mentality hanging over us from the previous decade. This is the recipe for getting boat raced and there’s not a damn thing any coach in the country could do to avoid it. I know that because we have one of the best and it’s STILL a disaster.
  6. Because we will be playing OSU.
  7. But seriously, we can’t be much worse than last year here if we tried.
  8. We are first time season ticket holders and I wouldn't miss it for the world! That said, I need a sitter from 6-11 for well behaved kids that go to bed at 8:30 so if you know one, send them my way!
  9. It only matters that its gluten free.
  10. Most criminals might not have much, but what many of the do have are daughters. Good luck with that, Larry.
  11. I did legit think for a minute though that it was a Maryland uni, which is sad.. For Maryland.
  12. Oh ya, I'm wrong.. Ill go back to my hole now. Nothing to see here.
  13. Looks like it is ordered by jersey numbers.
  14. I got this calendar the day we went to the spring game and filled it out. I know, I know. Supreme homer picks, but the point is, I always believe that anything is possible, and I'm much less crazy now that Frost and Co are captaining the ship.
  15. Well, as it was it actually took about 3 seconds off the clock which was 2 seconds more than we ended up needing.. Mission accomplished, although not w/o puckering..
  16. I was ok with the call early in the 4th as well. We were trying to put it into a 3 point game at that time where a FG could tie it assuming we could hold the. We didn't hold them so it didn't work out that way. In the end when it comes down to the final 2-3 minutes of a game you need however many points you need. Turned out we needed 7 and we got them.
  17. Also, likening penis exposure to flashing boobs is fun to do but they are not remotely in the same ballpark. Breasts are not genitalia. A more fail comparison would be a 46 year old overweight mother of 6 flashing her bushy curtains at you or the public.. And yes, in that instance there is no doubt in my mind that authorities would be notified and arrests would be made. Also, do not lose sight of the fact that, while you want to defend Avery for being young and making stupid youthful mistakes...The woman he was making them to was also young and much more innocent than most of us on this board. I can remember when I was 19 and watched a comedy bit that discussed noises that get made in the bedroom and I almost walked out due to embarrassment. There are many 19 year olds who have little to no experience with birds and bees and are far from comfortable with it all. That is just the truth, a truth that the University is obligated and expected to understand.
  18. RG isn't big enough or mature enough physically to go pro like he was considering, so IMO this was just talk out of an emotional 20year old. Not to mention, all it ever seems to take in these situations is the new coach to come in, stroke the kids ego, promise him the moon and all is well again.
  19. And the other guys that played were a lot better? Not to mention the fact that he was much better in limited action this year. And Martinez can make a lot more things happen by himself than anyone else we have. No, obviously the turnovers are a team wide issue.. But you listed to's as a large contributor to us failing to do as well as we should have and went on to say they would not have been a huge issue with our experienced qb at the helm.. I am not sure that you can say that in that tmart led the nation in turnovers.. Tmart brings more to the table than the backups for sure but at no point would you be comfortable in saying that you trust him completely to not make mistakes that cost a game or 2 either. He was never going to be solidly consistent. But you're still ignoring the fact that it's entirely possible that it would have been better with Martinez than what we ended up with. Martinez had three turnovers in four games. One was a fumble on fourth down when he was short and tried to reach to get the first. Another was late in the Minnesota game that we'd already lost. So two of his three were basically inconsequential. Martinez three two interceptions in four games. The other two threw 10 in eight games. Martinez lost one fumble in four games. Not sure about the other two but it was the same rate if not worse. We might not have been great. But we definitely could have been better. And in three games - UCLA, Michigan St. and Iowa - field position and turnovers played a HUGE role. I will concede that we may have been slightly better. Obviously we will never know and it is neither here nor there. I watched us barely beat Wyoming and knew as I left the stadium it would be a long long season. Hard to imagine lighting the world on fire with the team that played in that game. The Minnesota loss sits squarely on the fact that we did have tmart, although a shell of tmart. Had we started a back up that game I feel we would have won, so flip that game when debating wins and losses due to backups IMO. Add to the fact that I believe some of the younger talent got into games out of sheer Bo desperation, it becomes very cloudy as to where we may have ended up. I may buy into one more win, but I think it's a stretch to say we would have been much further along then that when looking at the struggles we had early season.
