  1. The season is a wash regardless. No one leaves now. At the end of the season they can all pound sand.
  2. That kind of makes sense, though, as they are a brand new coaching staff. Could be some shakeup of their roster. It's overall minor and not a huge issue to me. More of an annoyance than anything.
  3. Getting day drunk and hopefully celebrating with my wife and dogs. If we lose, getting day drunk and will be getting consoled by my wife and dogs.
  4. My guess is it's a bit of a pissing contest between him and the media. I'm not a huge fan of the media so I kinda get it, but I can't think of a strategic advantage of not releasing it.
  5. I think these alleged infractions are pretty small potatoes, but they are rotten icing on the crap cake that has been Husker football over the last 7 years. I am still on team Frost but man every time I think we've hit rock bottom we keep going deeper and deeper.
  6. Makes you wonder about Ed Stewart as well. Did he know any of this before he allegedly turned down the AD job?
  7. I think a great addition to the B1G would be Mizzou and KU. I have Mizzou more than any of our current rivals so I'd love to see us play them again. KU has hoops and is AAU. I don't think Iowa State is a great addition. B1G is going to be looking at $$$ and they don't bring a TV market. KU and Mizzou would bring KC and STL. Might be tough to convince Mizzou to leave the SEC, though. Best case scenario for the B1G would be ND and KU out of this, imo. That being said my dream would be OU and Mizzou to the B1G.
  8. It's always a 50/50 game at best and I think it will continue to be. Fitzgerald always has that team ready to play in the true battle for NU.
  9. The Illinois game will be super telling. We desperately need to win it.
  10. Pretty close to where I see us: 8/28 @ Illinois - I really hope we don't lose to freaking Bert. W. 1-0 9/11 Buffalo - We should pull this off but it will be very ugly. W. 2-0 9/18 @ Oklahoma - lol L. 2-1 9/25 @ Michigan State - Tucker coaches circles around Frost again. L. 2-2 10/2 Northwestern - Lose by 3 in a low scoring game. Offense looks like garbage. L. 2-3 10/9 Michigan - We should lose this one on paper but Harbaugh is the more successful version of Frost and will find a way to drop this one. W. 3-3 10/16 @ Minnesota - Fleck coaches circles around Frost again and wins this one easily. L. 3-4 10/30 Purdue - We win this one handily and everyone gets a little optimistic. W. 4-4 11/6 Ohio State - We score on the opening drive and lose by 40 L. 4-5 11/13 SE Louisiana - Should be a W and hopefully a confidence booster going into Iowa and Wisconsin. W. 5-5 11/20 @ Wisconsin - Another close one but Chryst out-coaches us again for the victory. L. 5-6 11/26 Iowa - Same bat time same bat channel. Out-coached. L. 5-7
  11. Surely the fiscal side of this has to be in play. Massive new facilities, a couple mil """retirement""" for Moos, and a massive buyout if Frost is let go. Barring a complete collapse I think we have him for 2021 and 2022.
  12. Professional lurker here. Please bring back the sock puppet.
  13. I hope he adapts the offense as it's pretty clear that whatever it is he's tried to done previously has not worked. I don't think you can honestly pinpoint one specific issue at the offense. It's a hodgepodge of everything - penalties, bad playcalling, not enough talent at WR, etc. The commonality there is certainly Frost but he doesn't drop passes in the endzone or snap the ball 30 feet away from the QB. Frost is allegedly a brilliant x's and o's kinda guy so I would hope to see a shift next season. Time will tell.
  14. I agree with the other posters that Verduzco should likely be shown the door. QB room has regressed if anything. We're in pretty dire need of better special teams. I am unsure what exactly Lubick does as the OC if Frost is really calling plays. I think I'd rather see Frost go into more of a CEO-type role and let someone else handle playcalling. Defensive coaches should all be safe. Defense has improved consistently.
  15. I think it's worth noting that Sip and McKewon have been asking pretty good questions the last few pressers. I've seen complaints elsewhere that the local media is throwing Frost softballs but I feel like both Sip and McKewon have been pretty spot on with their questions.
  16. This is exactly it. We need to be in contention for every player with potential in a 500 mile radius. Get a few skill positions and some speed if it doesn't exist locally. Development >>> chasing stars. In today's landscape you have to chase stars to compete at the highest level, but man we can't even beat Illinois consistently. We're nowhere near that yet.
  17. Going to be a bloody Black Friday.
  18. This is the kind of crap I thought this staff was going to fix smh.
  19. It is incredibly depressing watch Nebraska have no answer for what Nebraska used to be the master of.
  20. The only way I see Les Miles coming in if Riley is fired tomorrow and he's the interim and only the interim. Agreed on Trev Alberts. Nebraska ties can't be the end all be all when it comes to this. Proven success has to be #1.
  21. Please no Bert. Here would be my short list if I were AD: 1. Chip Kelly (not likely, but I would go for it) 2. Scott Frost 3. Dan Mullen 4. Mike Norvell 5. Les Miles
  22. Greetings! Long time lurker, first time poster. Here's an extreme option. I think a lot of people are armchair athletic directors/university presidents who think their iron fist rule (i.e. Riley is fired after the BYU game) would work are delusional. That being said, I think I have an "extreme" option that would work on paper. So let's play a fun thought exercise and pretend I'm in control of what happens with NU: 1. Fire Eichorst. Hire someone with a winning tradition as an interim. Who would that be? Ideally someone with Nebraska ties. I doubt Osborne would do it but he would obviously be #1. I've heard Trev Alberts's name thrown around and that might not be a bad idea. Either way, we need a proven winner ideally with Nebraska ties. 2. New AD comes in and fires Riley, Langsdorf, and Cav. These are the weakest links. I think that Diaco is the real deal and will prove himself by the end of the season. You can't be so quick to judge after 3 games. If you are so quick to judge, then you need to consider that his defense has given up 7 points in 6 quarters. On the flip side of letting these three go, you need to work on keeping both of the Williams, Parella, and Bray. Those 4 are legit, in my opinion. 3a. Hire a proven winner as interim head coach. I would look no further than Les Miles as an interim HC. His priorities would be to win as many games as possible and maintain/improve the recruiting class. He as a vested interest in Nebraska's success (his son), he is a proven winner, and equally important he is a proven recruiter. I don't think I would hire him to be the full time HC, but he is the perfect candidate for interim HC. 3b. Diaco as interim head coach. There are worse ideas. I think he is a winner and has bright future in CFB but I could be wrong. He is the best candidate on the current staff to be interim HC. His priorities would be the same obviously (win, recruit). 4. Open up the checkbook. I grew in the late 80's and early 90's watching Osborne's teams dominate. There were a lot of considerable factors to that domination that most posters I see on various message boards don't seem to take into account (TV time, innovative strength/conditioning/nutrition, the best facilities, etc.). I honestly believe we cannot run the same system and be anywhere near dominant. What Nebraska needs to be is innovative. We were innovative in the 90's and we need to be again. How do you do that? Great CFB minds need to be here. My hire would be Chip Kelly. He ran a run-first offense at Oregon and could tailor that system to fit our recruits. His reputation is not that great when it comes to boosters, etc. so he will need coordinators who are. Give him the funds necessary to bring those coordinators in. That would be my version of the extreme "fire everyone" now with as much detail as possible. I think that sets Nebraska up for success in the future and has us nearly immediately competitive.
