  1. According ShortSideOption. I read the tweet as off field, S/C, support staff?? Maybe some of the toxic personnel that have been eluded to in various reports floating around.
  2. It's the story of HCSF's entire tenure at NU. Only reason he was 16-31 was a little run of bad luck.
  3. I was torn between 2 and 3 but being the eternal optimist I decided to go with 3.
  4. More disappointing revaluations coming out. Felt betrayed by Frost and other decisions need to be made about people who are "toxic down there". Mind boggling and can't comprehend they haven't been tackling in practice. As always, ST is measured, well spoken and a true Husker.
  5. Yeah, I can't imagine Trev not being totally PO'd about this kind of crap. Bad enough he is talking out of school to his broadcasting buddies but to do it in a room filled with mic's and camera is plain stupid. Just the good ol' boy network in action I guess. He deserves to be axed for this.
  6. If that is the case I'm glad he didn't.
  7. I wish we were Kansas. They are 3-0 and just took it to Houston yesterday. Their program is on the fast rise. The preseason O/U win total was 2.5 which they've already passed. While our program circles the drain.
  8. Yep. He also knew that when the first thing he stated when asked what he was looking for in the new coach was "character". Assistant AD Brendon Stai also knew it when last week he flatly stated it won't be Meyer.
  9. Found this gem on reddit. No idea if it is true but if there is any truth to it only adds fuel to the fire. Probably worked out for the best though after seeing the first 4 games it would be a shame for a talent like Dylan waste his college career at such at train wreck of a program as NU. https://www.reddit.com/r/Huskers/comments/xdesu5/comment/iobasn6/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3
  10. This actually ended up about where I expected it. 35 point spread and I had it at 36. Thought both teams would score a couple of more TD's though. I've seem a lot of people say OU isn't the 6th best team in the country. While that may be true I'd hate to play any of the top if they are better than OU. Oh wait, we play Mich who is going to role us.
  11. Short Side Option - My thoughts on the dismissal of Frost
  12. I think he has to make it to Indy to be seriously considered. And even then only considered, not guaranteed the job. He has a huge mountain to climb with his lack of experience on so many levels. On paper he is not close to be qualified for the job but if he can get NU to 9-3 it would certainly make things interesting.
  13. I read that yesterday during the Q & A thread. Certainly not the least bit surprising considering the first thing out of Trev's mouth when asked about what he'll be looking for in a new coach was "Character". That immediately ruled out Meyer the way I see it and I wondered if it wasn't intentionally worded like that for a reason.
  14. From "Doc Talk" with Dr. Rob Zatechka and Travis Justice. Justice - Okay, let me give you an example. I was with what I think was a pretty good money man. Got invited to an NIL presentation. He (Frost) showed up an hour and half late. He showed up in a cut-off t-shirt with no sleeves, with a big old wad of chew in, spitting the whole time. Now you may say that's just who he is. If you are trying to impress people to give you money and that's the way you are with donors who you are trying to get to pay your players? Dr. Rob Zatechka - How do you think you are with the players?
  15. Program identity, recruiting to fit you system, player retention and development, especially OL & DL. Factors that have been sorely lacking even before Frost but worse the 4 1/2 years. I'd rather have a #30-40 class of players that fit what you want to do, will stick around and can develop successfully into strong players than a #20 class where half of them leave within 2 years and the remainder show little development even in year 5.
  16. I keep seeing Mark Stoops name come up and while I agree he's done a great job at UK he is also a close friend of Pelini going back to their school days in Youngstown. Bo was none too happy with NU or the fans when he was fired. Have to believe he has been or would be in Stoops ear on this and doubt he has a lot of positive comments toward his time at NU. A lot has changed with the athletic dept. since those days but still if your good friend warns about the awful experience he had it would have to get Stoops attention. Don't know if Stoops is even interested in moving but I have to believe the chances of him coming here would be slim.
  17. Short Side Option - Herbie's Hangout - Coaching Candidates
  18. I picked that up from Sharp & Benning on Sept. 8 when Sip was the guest. He was referring to OU. Don't think he considered a loss to Georgia Southern but a loss to GS would clearly have a much bigger impact than a loss to top 10 OU as we saw.
  19. Sipple took a lot of grief here and on the other boards about the suggesting HCSF might be terminated before the Oct. 1 but he turned out to be correct.
  20. Just reaffirmed what we already knew. When NU faces a team with a quality coach we are going to lose a one score game. See Fitzgerald. See Helton. Clay Helton is a good coach who came in with a great game plan and was able to get his guys to execute it perfectly. Honestly, Georgia Southern deserved that win more than NU.
  21. Yeah, when we haven't be able to beat them since Pelini was here I wouldn't be beating my chest quite yet.
  22. NW up to 43 yards on 18 carries for a whopping 2.4 yd/carry. What did they average against us, 5 yd/carry? NW is not good.
