Wonder if 7 yards has been determined to be the most optimal angle to block your outside rushers for your end guys...maybe anything more gives them more of a straight line to rush the kick instead of having to turn an angle to get there

I have always wondered why coaches dont go out and find 2 or 3, 6'8" + dudes and offer them partial schollies or walk on perks simply to just come out and line up and jump up and block kicks...they dont even have to be all that athletic...get the back up center from bball team or whatever.

I agree with this...in my earlier post I brought up a play where AM escaped and hard more than enough yardage to get the 1st and some more but he kept looking down field, I recall the LB in the outside continuing to gain depth with the TE or WR (can't remember who) while eyeballing AM. Gotta wonder if opposing D is told to stay in coverage instead of coming up because they are seeing AM is far more tentative to tuck and run as opposed to last year. If AM would just take what they are giving with his legs it will then open up passes down field

The problem with AM this year is his "get it vs make it" mindset is off. Meaning, he is overly concerned about making a play that he doesnt go and get what is there. Example:yesterday it was a 3rd and 4 (I think), he gets out of a little pressure and rolls right..there is a clear swath of land for him to run and get the 1st plus additional yardage, yet he floats looking for targets downfield and ultimately ends up throwing an incompletion. Last year he would go out and get what was there which ultimately allowed him to make more opportunities as defenses had to step up and get him when he rolled out. Now he is so focused on making a play that he is not getting what is there.

I hold onto the year where we blew the doors off Washington regular season and then s#!t the bed in the bowl game...not necessarily apples to apples if we win out and play OSU in CCG, but if OSU somehow drops a B10 game prior to CCG...they could be deflated

On a positive note, I guess..atleast we dont have to worry about another program or NFL trying to poach Frost

Honestly, having played on field turf in wet games it has little effect on close contact blocking, etc...the way fields are now (artificial), footing is not necessarily a big concern...however ball grip and such as you have mentioned, it is a concern...but passing game will effect both equally. Hold onto the ball!
