    It comes with a heavy heart to announce that my nephew Preston Justin Hebenstreit passed away on December 6, 2017. He was barely a week old and attributed a rare blood clotting condition he could not overcome. Your prayers meant a lot to me during his time in the hospital. My family, especially my sister and husband need community. I know how compassionate Nebraska fans are and how we put the quality of life above everything else. If you would like to reach out, I am providing our social media handles as we have announced his passing publicly just a few moments ago.      Wow! I just listen to Sharpe/Benning’s interview with Adrian Martinez. Wow!  That kid is going to be gold for us. If you have a chance to listen to the interview do so they just did it about 45 minutes ago it’s worth the listen.

      I think it's because he's a big fan of what Trump is all about.

       

      I don't know how much "they" have or don't have. What I can't imagine is being so proud of what Trump is that you'd indulge in the tears of his (and your, by extension) enemies. 

       

      For shame, too. This is America, ya'll. We invented anti-authoritarianism. 

       

      (I mean, not literally, of course -- but it's one of the foremost values in we should take particular pride)

      There's probably a sensible way to distinguish not-too-volatile current events conversations and commentary and fraught political firestorms. This seems much more like the latter, and it's not the kind of stuff that ever really causes a ruckus. Sports statuses have done worse :P

      I hope White tells that loser Frost to kick rocks and sends him packing. 

      UCF doesn’t deserve this. Especially now that they’re trying to poach all your recruits.

      I mean the UCF administration. Of course the fans are mad. Frost did great things there is taking everything he built with him. They're back at square one. Ugly side of fandom, but I'm sure there are plenty of other fans there who are nothing but appreciative.

      Yeah, Moos didn't say that with the most delicate of touches. It wasn't an ideal way to say it and I can see why it sticks out. One of those things you should maybe just let the media observe. He should have been more diplomatic. Whatever UCF may feel about those comments, I'm sure they harbor zero ill will towards Frost, though. And it will be a 3-hour commercial. Hopefully a good one.

      This is a perfect hire. I hope we have plenty of patience for Frost. Winning isn't guaranteed -- heck, it's extremely unlikely that he (or anyone) will blossom into the next Saban or Meyer. But this is just about as Nebraska as Nebraska can be, and Frost should be able to choose to leave on his own terms. Enjoy the ride.

    Dumped my iPhone 8+ for the Google Pixel 2XL. This phone is legit fast, faster than the iPhone 8+ and the camera is the best on the market hands down.

      If you're gonna go Android at all, either go with the Pixel or the OnePlus IMO.

       

      Personally, I love iOS and won't be going back. iMessage is actually a pretty big reason.

      @jaws, I think that really glosses over how much of a difference this tax bill makes. Taxing people who are living on 10-30k stipends as if they made 40-60k more than that is not "hey just another log on the fire".

      I'm stunned this is on the verge of passing. Going to have to read up more on it. I've been contemplating starting one next fall, but I think only current students would be grandfathered in. Regardless, it's a sweeping tragedy that will affect far more people than me. And not even those students who will be turned away, as you point out, Sea of Red. Why on *earth* would we desire to waylay American research and academia? It is one of our strengths, our treasures.

      @VectorVictor, there's always going to exist an argument that "the timing is suspect". Perhaps it's time to realize that it is not. These things almost always seem to come out years later. And at some point, given the current climate, the answer to "why now?" should be "well, obviously, now."
