More like the Washington Wusses. They've known this day was coming for years and yet they still don't have it figured out.

Flipping over the tables and driving out deceitful “merchants” as you call them is equal to an innocent business person getting beat up and store looted? Jesus had a clear purpose to clear the temple that was being misused. The rioters are indiscriminately causing destruction. I applaud peaceful protestors now calling these rioters out saying what the hell are you doing?  They are right.

Your argument is well Jesus got mad and stirred things up so the rioters can too. Parallels, eh?  So can a suicide bomber or school shooter say I have been wronged so I’ll just stir things up?

Jesus would care about the injustice to George Floyd but you imply he wouldn’t care about the injustices to these other people?  As you said, you don’t know Jesus.

    3. BlitzFirst

      BlitzFirst

Jesus wouldn't care about peoples need to make money being a bigger deal than racist killings, inequality, and injustices toward people with just a little bit more melanin...of that I'm certain.  Especially since Jesus was a person of color himself.

I know Jesus...I followed him and made the Bible my life's mission spending over 7 years in collegiate study of religion...from philosophy to history, to reading the Hebrew and Koine Greek scriptures in the original languages.  I was going to school to be a minister.  I understand faith, works, grace, and spirit just fine.  I only became an atheist in the last 10 years and I'm in my 40's.

I can say that I know Jesus and the Bible more than just about 95% of the Christians I meet.  I can also say I understand the nuances of faith and most of the worlds major religions having studied the subject for so long.

I don't tell you this to brag, I tell you it so that you understand that I'm making this comparison not because it's an exact 1 for 1 copy of things that happened...but to cause people to challenge their perception on things.

Perception is everything and for those of us that do not challenge it fail not only ourselves, but our society.  So I had hoped that people would step away from themselves and their Christian bias for a few moments to reflect on the similarities.

I understand why the riots are happening.  While I don't agree with them...I also don't say "F these rioters" to start a post...because hundreds of years of oppression and injustice perpetrated onto folks who happen to look different than a majority of other folks...has led to righteous indignation.  I think change is overdue.  I'm sorry a few folks insured businesses are having windows broken, product looted, or fires...but I just can't rustle up enough care for those folks...they're rebuild.  The folks who are black will not come back to life.  They're gone.  That is why I attempted to make you think.

This is the last I'll say on the subject.

"Perception is everything and for those of us that do not challenge it fail not only ourselves, but our society." This is precisely why I had to stand against your inaccurate perception of Jesus.  I don't post on here about things other than football, but your initial post trying to equate Jesus to the rioters (as if He'd be right there with them) demanded the truth.

  5. So much for social distancing. I wait 30 minutes to go inside a Home Depot but a mob of people can go in and bust up a Target. Sheesh.

It's interesting anyone ever thought bottlenecking the entire population into a few big box stores was a good strategy to keep the population apart.

  6. Aranda > Venables

    1. Decked

      Decked

Aranda didn’t have to play LSU’s offense. The difference is Clemson will be back here next year and Clemson will be better on D next year. LSU will be neither.

It was funny catching back up on my Twitter feed later in the game.  In the first quarter there were all kinds of tweets about how Clemson was completely out-coaching LSU.

  7. Didn’t watch Ravens much this year but I had no idea they were Lamar Jackson or bust. Reminds me of college when he’d dominant mediocre teams but then get shutdown against strong teams. Where is the Ravens defense and running game that I have always known as their calling card?

The whole team got trashed tonight. WRs didn’t help either

    3. Savage Husker

A lot of dropped passes. It’s not a rule nor an exception, but just an instance of when a bye team looks rusty against a team currently with the most momentum in the game.

Texans/Chiefs should load the box all game long and not let Henry get going, force Tannehill to beat them with his arm (he can’t).

    4. ColoradoHusk

The Ravens didn’t have a strong D this year until late in the season. Their running game was hampered against the Titans because Mark Ingram re-injured his calf.  The Ravens also panicked a bit and got away from running the ball when they fell down 14-0. Jackson played ok, but not great, and didn’t get much help from his WR’s. Unfortunately two things which helped the Ravens all season (low turnovers, converting 4th downs to extend drives) burned them against the Titans. The Ravens moved the ball well, but couldn’t come up with key plays in the red zone. People put the blame on Lamar, but they shouldn’t.

From my understanding he was a Mike Riley and was only going to make the program worse. Wouldn't make players practice, no discipline for an in game fight or just in general. It will be interesting to see who they can land though

  9. Jason Garrett out at Dallas.  Rumorville?  Lincoln Riley?  Urb?

I can't imagine Urban coaching again with his totally legitimate health concerns.

These guys get so rich today that it has to be hard to get them to come back to coach because the money part is not a big deal for them.

I can see Lincoln Riley leaving, just because I wonder if he is starting to think that he can't get over the hump.

Who got him the great roster at USC? Who hired his assistants?

@Xmas32 7-1 on the road vs 4-4 at home, or 5-3 if they had won, their playoff success doesn’t hinge on that game last night. Russell needs his TEs back and need to sign a legit WR1, get a healthy RB and that offense shouldn’t struggle in the red zone. Very limited offense with 22 seconds left, no timeouts, no red zone targets, and a defensive holding call that was swallowed.

Ironically Ed Orgeron was at USC prior to Carroll and was the recruiting coordinator.  So ED O and $$$ (see R. Bush) were a great part of his success.

  13. Time to hit SoCal recruiting hard! I can’t recall when so many were down on both USC and UCLA at the same time.

The 80s and 90s, and 2010’s weren’t all that great for USC, and UCLA has always been more of a “name” than actual results.

Amazed that USC tailback U doesn’t even run it anymore as they have gone full air raid.  They are more like Wazzou and Texas Tech and less like Oregon, Washington, Utah, Stanford, and even OU.  Sure they’ll have some good QB’s and WR’s but I don’t see them winning anything of significance anytime soon.

  14. 1 LSU, 2 OSU, 3 Clemson, 4 OU. That’s how I’d rank them.

      Decoy73

You could make a good case for that, but I’d vote for Ohio State to remain number 1. Mainly because I feel their body of work for the whole season is more impressive.

OU must have like double digit sacks right now.

  17. Bring on the Jerkeyes!!!

  18. Texans just fumbled and the NFL just completely ignored it.  Nothing to see here.  What a joke.  Colts should have taken serious issue.

  19. Astros...what a bunch of jerks.  So glad the Nats punked these losers.

AJ Hinch’s denial sure isn’t a good look. What a d-bag for how he responded. I have no issues picking signs when it’s P2P, but not when you start using technology to tip signs.

I went to the Mel Stottylemyre Jr camps in Washington state when I was in middle school. Mel Jr was telling us how one MLB team used the Red and Green lights around the scoreboards in the stadium, which indicate a base hit or error, to tip pitches to the hitter

      Some real shady business

IDK, who has Clemson played? Hell, Minnesota (along with about 10 other teams) has a better resume than Clemson. The ACC might as well be the AAC this year.

USC an easier road to the playoff and more prominent program.  Franklin strikes me as an opportunist.

  22. All white uni’s suck.  Wow Wisconsin just blew the playoff and possible Heisman.  I am shocked!

  23. Better meme from today...Florida coaches looking like blueberries with their all blue outfits or Sooner schooner epic fail wipe out? :dunno:funnyhahah
