  1. I am trying to think of the guys that worked out for, not newby but Demorio Williams and Eric Martin both did well with it.
  2. I believe it was 2015 he said that. Last year, his comments were that he thought NU would be successful to make a bowl. I remember that bowl remark.
  3. This program I left a few years ago just got in trouble for starting practice early. Classic!

  4. Was this the stop last year when Dinardo said NU didn't look physical and people freaked out?
  5. So cute! I have a Great Dane puppy...but it looks full grown and it is not smart at all.
  6. I wonder which reporters they like and which ones they are like "Oh god, here we go"
  7. I agree completely. Trying to block for Tommy was much more difficult than trying to block for a pocket passer who's movements will be much more predictable. Except when the pocket breaks down... Let's not forget that many times, Tommy was running for his life when the pocket broke down......because he totally forgot where his dump rout was and lacked the ability to deliver the ball there when he actually did. Except I didn't forget. Tommy isn't our quarterback this year which is what my comment about the pocket breaking down was about. What happens 'this' year. Most of the time criticism about the O line is based off of what we saw last year.....so.....people are concerned about it this year. My comment was pointing out that part of why the looked bad last year was because of who was at QB. THIS year, we have a very very different QB back there. One that can hit screen passes and quick crossing routes and knows how to step up into the pocket instead of instantly starting to run for his life. Those factors alone will help the O line. That's why my comment pertained to this year. I don't think Tommy hurt the o line as much as people would like to believe and I also think he didn't bail out of the pocket as much as some have mentioned in this thread. He was no sitting duck back there. In fact if it weren't for his legs the Nebraska offense would have fared worse in terms of when things broke down. Tommy and last year shouldn't derail this thread however. Again we will have less mobile quarterbacks back there this season for the first time in a long time. With an o line that had some ups and downs last year too. It will be very interesting to see how things pan out. Amen!
  8. Not sure if the Mod stuff is done but I am going to have to reconsider and pull my name. Sorry!

^Isn't that what Rumorville was for? I think I've spent <1% of my Huskerboard time there.

Is that what Rumorville is? Man, I hardly ever look at it.

  9. Change up in the question: Did your parents know you were drinking in college? I like to think my parents didn't know but I also know they aren't stupid about what goes on even though nether of them attended college.

They knew I drank, but they didn't know I smoked pot, dropped acid, or any of the other stuff I did.

Drinking: yes. Drugs: Probably. That guy I killed: No

I started drinking in highschool and my mom and I came to the conclusion it was best if I just told her when I did. It allowed her to not worry and I always had a ride home or place to crash and could talk about it with her. We figured I would do it one way or another, why not have her in the loop.

  10. If you have a son/daughter in college and they are under 21 are you okay with them drinking?

I don't think any of my unknown children are in college yet

I think most parents would prefer their child not drink underage, but peer pressure + the environment make it very likely. IMO, I'd tell my child that it's dangerous, but if they did choose to drink, to not hesitate to call me if there was ever a problem or they needed a ride. Not that I'm saying I'd be OK with them drinking, but I'd rather they call me in an emergency than not.

No kids here. Obviously wouldn't want them to drink, but I did it. I'd just tell them to be smart about it. Always be in control of you, and know your own limits.

  11. Uh oh...don't let GBRFAN see that tweet.

  13. This is becoming the norm. I am glad they are doing it.
  14. I think we did have negative points at one time.
  15. for film study or for promos? Ha...trust me, not for promos.
  16. Yep...I had this happen at Wal-Mart and it was me and a 30 year old. Thought it was odd too. My brother in law is from a small village in Romania...he said there were/are basically no drinking ages...He did say getting into the clubs you had to be 16. He said the big difference is no one there really drives and getting drunk is not as big of a deal because you can drink early.
  17. When I am a Mod...you will not have to bend the knee to me. I want you to know that.

  18. No...there are no more excuses for the coaches. I think you are missing what I am saying. Years one and two there were "excuses" so that things were not blamed on Riley. Those are now all gone. So a crappy season this year falls on him. Well....from the "expectations" thread, it sounds like if we don't win a championship the season sucks. So, if the season sucks because we didn't win a championship, then Riley needs to be held accountable and fired.....because there is no reasonable excuse for having a bad season. Glad to know now that it's championship or he needs to be fired. I guess I agree with you. Win it all or can him.

  20. I'm not gonna get too worked up about football players partying or smoking weed. They've been doing it since I was at NU during the 90s. Some players can handle it, some can't. There used to be so super lame Husker Legends radio show...all the host and his guests did were talk about the good old days and how they snuck out of the dorms and hotels and how they would party and sometimes get caught and have to run or do push ups. The only difference now is that every dork tweets out about a player getting in trouble.
  21. Yes...and he fixed them all...so there are no more excuses.
  22. Sure...I will define them as I see them. 1. Not the right QB for his system 2. No depth on the OL 3. Bad DC that should have been fired while at OSU 4. Toxins
