  1. More "we're doing everything right, the players just aren't getting it" mentality. Here's a thought...how about trying something different? What you're currently doing isn't working. So your basicly saying that the coaches don't know how to teach tackling? Do you ever have a logical thought? I'm guessing not just by reading all your comments.
  2. What type of job do you think that Bo walked into? This team was pitiful, and the defense was flat out embarrassing. Yes, much worse than this year. Like I said, Fitzgerald could be argued. To me, Northwestern, ISU, and Vandy are all in the same category: average teams that barely make it to bowl games, but once or twice a year, they beat a team they have no business beating. That is what those programs are. If that's what we want Nebraska to become permanently, then by all means, let's dump Bo and hitch our wagon to the land of mediocrity. And I don't mean win-8-or-9-games type of mediocrity. I mean ACTUAL mediocrity of 6 or 7 wins every year and shipping our team off to the toilet bowl in mid-December. Bo has won 9 or 10 games EVERY season he has been here so far. I hope he does it again this season. This year, our defense is slow, unathletic, and just plain not getting the job done. IMO that is a result of the first 2 recruiting classes Bo had here. They were sub-par. Since then, he has found out how important recruiting is, and it has picked up. I am in the group that wants to see what Bo can do in 2 or 3 years when those younger guys are leading the team. If it doesn't work out at that point, then oh well, we move on. It's just a little ridiculous to think that any other coach that has been mentioned that would REALISTICALLY come here could do better than what Bo has done in his first 4 years. This is exactly how I feel about things. People use the "Well this is his 5th year..." excuse way to much. That and the coaches people are throwing out wouldn't do any better than Bo. I hope we get some of these younger guys into games this second half of the season so people can see we're making progress. No use making another Solich mistake. I think there are coaches, such as Fitzgerald that would do better than Bo. I like Bo and want him to succeed but if you are saying 8-9 wins is all you want than Bo is the guy. He has proven that if he has superior talent he wins, but if it comes down to coaching we choke it away. We make the same mistakes today that we did 5 years ago, nothing has changed. I think Bo deserve 2 more years to see what he can do. I dont like the excuses that he is learning on the job or he needs better coaches around him, he hand picks his coaches and hires way too many first time coaches. I liked JP and his fire but he is in way over his head, You can blame recruiting all you want, Calladouche had some pretty good recruits but never developed talent, developing talent to me is more important and that is were we seem to have a issue at times. Bo seems to be married to a philosophy and system and is unable to adjust. The season isnt over but he deserves the pressure to perfrorm, I mean we have been blown out again OSU, South Carolina, UCLA (we werent blown out persay but we couldnt stop them if our lives depended on it), Wisconsin 2011, Michigan 2011. If you look at our losses from this year and last we are giving up 42pts per game on average in those 6 games we also have 16 combined turnovers in those 6 games, that not good and has to be corrected. That is the concern i have, we arent even competing with these teams, I think Pelini may have peaked as a coach, it seems as though we will beat the teams we should beat, will lose 1 game a year to someone we shouldnt, and teams that we are not quite as good as we will get dominated by and kill ourselves with mistakes. I am hoping I am proved wrong in this but I guess time will tell. And why do you think this? If he was a better coach, don't you think he would have better records then what he does?
  3. And Bill Snyder has been coaching longer then Bo has been alive...People comparing Bo to coaches that have been in the game for a long time are not all there...Why don't you guys compare him to coaches that have been coaching the same number of years and compare those and see what you think. I'm pretty sure it won't change your mind cause I'm sure you will come up with another excuse on why Bo needs to go. It was a general statement to all...not just you Paul in WI I wasn't trying to make any comparisons between Snyder and our staff. I'm simply saying that he evidently is on to something that we need to learn from and aspire to, because frankly the state of Kansas has the same geographic shortcomings as Nebraska in recruiting talent and fielding good teams. He's a sharp guy and has obviously learned how to overcome some of the obstacles that are currently plaguing our program. We shouldn't be above evaluating his methodology in order to improve our football program. Afterall, that's how other programs caught up to us when we ruled supreme. I agree with you on that...Snyder is a great coach and it wouldn't bother me one bit if Bo got some lessons from him.

  5. He would be nice to get but your gonna need to pay him more then that. He already make 6.7 million a year with Seattle As I said in another thread any college that his Pete would be answering to the NCAA. This was started when the sanctions were handed down to USC. There is a reason he jumped at a chance to get back in the league. Same thing would happen to any school that hired Jim Tressel as a head coach I agree with you Paul...The post you had in the other thread explaining the reasoning the coaches people want shouldn't/won't come here is spot on. I love husker football but to read and listen to some fans just makes me wnat to stick my head in a wood chipper. People need to get off their high horses about Nebraska football and come down to realitity that we are not kings anymore and that it might be awhile before we get the throne back.

  7. Apparently you don't watch Northwestern football to much...Colter is their QB only a handful of the time. Their main QB is Siemian and Colter comes in for certain packages but mostly plays as a receiver.
  8. I love when fans of teams get all pissy and butt hurt when the other team keeps scoring TDs. Here's an idea, how about our defense stop them? They have been running the same three plays all game long, but somehow our defense can't figure it out. This
  9. The derp in the game thread is at an all time high.

  10. Is this the guy that is friends with Bo?
  11. These 2 young men are heroes to me...they are fighting a very uphill battle and one they might not win. I have a 6 yr. old boy and couldn't imagine what it would be like for him to go thru what these 2 are going thru. I am blessed to be a fan of a great team with great players that do things they don't have to but do them cause they want to. God bless Jack and Isaiah and the everyone that is envolved in their lives.
  12. Under. They'll talk about it definitely. Probly even show Tom up in his box. But won't bring it up four separate times during the game. O/U: Number of times the Blackshirts throw the bones after an awesome play: 7.5 Under Number of times " concussion " gets brought up: 6
  13. Read that Marquion Lane is also coming for a official vist. He and JoJo played together before one of them moved to a different school.
  14. http://www.imdb.com/...es?qt=qt0371644 Taggart: I got it! I got it! Hedley Lamarr: You do? Taggart: We'll work up a Number 6 on 'em. Hedley Lamarr: [frowns] "Number 6"? I'm afraid I'm not familiar with that one. Taggart: Well, that's where we go a-ridin' into town, a-whompin' and a-whumpin' every livin' thing that moves within an inch of its life. Except the women folks, of course. Hedley Lamarr: You spare the women? Taggart: Naw, we rape the sh#t out of them at the Number Six Dance later on. Hedley Lamarr: Marvelous! I love Blazing Saddles...One of the best of all time
  15. So Whaley and Fisher are gonna be in or is Santos gonna take Whaleys place? It wouldn't bother me seeing Whaley at Sam and Santos at Will with Compton in the middle.
  16. I could care less what the media thinks about these coaches lashing out...How do the fans for these other teams react to their coach being that way? Do they ignore it or do they whine, piss and moan like some of ours do?
  17. That's pretty bada$$...It always makes for a great atmosphere when the crowd get to doing things. Did anyone wath the Wisky/UTEP game? When the crowd started doing their jump around, the UTEP players started doing it also along with the Badgers. That was kinda neat to see.
  18. Fixed it for you. Not impressed with Leveon. Anyone can get the yards he gets when he gets 30 carries a game and no passing game. I challenge you to prove this. Leveon rushed for 250 yards today, and most of the time, teams stack the box with 8 and 9 defenders. It's not very easy to run with that stacked against you. If you want an example of how good Leveon Bell is, try and look up his run against Boise State on 3rd and 15+ from their own 10. He broke about 6 or 7 tackles before getting to the LOS and ended up breaking loose for the 1st down. Dude's a beast. But it was against E.Michigan and Boise St... ...Even against the " lesser " teams, it is hard to get the yardage that he has piled up. The guy is good.
  19. i hope they fire him and hire Dan " intramural " Hawkins. That would be a real kick in the shorts for hawkeye fans, but a funny one
  20. Spano would disagree with you. I'd say there is a 25-40% chance he never sees the field at Nebraska now. How many times do we see guys take multiple years to get back to their playing levels after similar knee injuries? A broken leg is a few month recovery and Fisher has never been the same. Blue hardly cracked the rotation. Many others battling multi-year rehabs for things like this, never to return to their playing speed and realize their potential. Spano messed up the same knee multiple times and that is why he never got over it. Marcus Lattimore screwed up his knee last year and that doesn't seem to bother him to much. It just depends on how the player reacts to the injury.
  21. We have the 4 horsemen of Nebraska...Screw Notre Dame
