would love to get this guy but if we don't then time to move on...the thing i like about bo is he wants players that want to be here

i never really understood this. if they committed here, don't they want to be here?

Some kids commit on the spot thinking that a school is the "biggest" they'll get, or to make sure they have a spot - but then hope for a "better" offer. Some get a little conceited after they commit and other schools come calling. Some commit and then get swayed by family and friends to "just look around" or similar.

Tons of reason it happens.

Committed to Arizona State according to scout

Yep. Great get for them:

Sun Devils snare Under Armour DT Corey Adams

ESPNU 150 standout Corey Adams has pledged to Arizona State over Ohio State and Southern California. He also had an offer from Nebraska, among many others.

Three players off Saguaro's 2008 state championship team have committed to ASU, including Adams, guard Kody Koebensky and tight end Max Smith.

ESPN's Craig Haubert elaborated on the pledge, "Arizona State had lost out on key in-state defensive line prospects like Craig Roh (Scottsdale, Ariz./Chaparral) who committed to Michigan and defensive end Devon Kennard (Phoenix/Desert Vista) who had eliminated the Sun Devils, but they did not come up empty by landing Corey Adams. It looked like Adams might commit last week but it seemed it was a tough call with Ohio State and USC also in the mix, but in the end the No. 5 rated defensive tackle decided to stay close to home."

"From a program that has won three straight state championships, Adams obviously comes in with an idea of what it takes to win. He is also a big muscular prospect who plays the position well. The Under Armour All-American is a thickly built kid who uses his hands very well and plays with leverage. He takes on blockers well and makes it tough to keep him blocked. Displays a good feel for the game and does not get caught out of position much. In addition to playing the run well he can be a productive pass rusher who can apply pressure."

"Adams is a productive player who combines technique, with size and strength, along with heady play and is a big in-state keep for Arizona State."

I guess the local cooking was enough to over-come the puddle of red they call fan support.
