huskered17
It would be nice to see the pipeline started by the last coaching staff, still be able to pull a few good players out of Ariz. Like I said when Dennis Ericson was hired, it's going to be very tough now to get players out of Ariz. Who knows, stranger things have happened. GBR!!! Quote Link to comment
Ohio Pete
More from ESPN's West Recruiting Blog: Corey Adams takes surprise official visit Monday, September 22, 2008 Posted by Greg Biggins In somewhat of a surprise move, Scottsdale (Ariz.) Saguaro defensive tackle Corey Adams took an official visit last weekend to Arizona State. The surprise wasn't that Adams visited ASU, as the Sun Devils have long been one of his leaders, it was the timing of the visit. Most schools don't typically trip in their in-state targets during the season but rather wait until December or January. That way they're able to spend more time with the player without having to worry about planning for a game right in the middle of the trip. Adams would have likely attended the Sun Devils game with Georgia regardless of whether he was on an official visit or not. Adams did say the visit went very well and he will next visit Nebraska this weekend. The Cornhuskers recently came in to the picture after Adams had narrowed his list to final three of ASU, USC and Ohio State. Still, we believe this will come down eventually to an ASU-USC battle. Red Storm Brewing
Landing this kid would rank right up there with App. St. knocking off Michigan. For real, results on scoreboard=results with recruits of this calibur. Quote Link to comment
pathtoglory
this is a outa no where ? but what does pipe line mean? ive been wanting to know that for ever Pipeline is an area where you start getting lots of recruits. Say we get 4 arizona recruits a year, that means we made Arizona a pipeline state. This year we're getting lots of guys from the Dallas-Fort Worth Metro, so right now that is a pipeline for us. It's basically when you are signing a lot of guys from a certain area. Quote Link to comment

Danimal
If he wasn't interested he wouldn't be visiting. If a kid is looking to take a "pleasure" visit we aren't the likeliest spot. I'm not saying we have the best shot but I'd say we have a shot if he's coming here. Quote Link to comment

If he's narrowed the list before coming to see us, there is a chance we could jump into the mix with a good showing. Not the best position in the world, but there's gotta be some chance. Ohio Pete
Not trying to rain on anyone's parade. I just thought it was interesting that articles keep coming out like that. Anyway, a visit is an important factor influencing kids' decisions so the more interested visitors the better. Quote Link to comment
CornHunka
Corey Adams Hometown: Scottsdale, AZ Saguaro High School Position rank: DT # 4 Ht: 6'3" Wt: 277 Evaluation Adams already is talented and productive, and he has additional upside. He possesses good size and great size potential. Has good height and the frame to develop into a physical monster. Appears to have a thick build on film, but could add even more bulk through a college weight program. Flashes good quickness off the ball, but could be more consistent in this area. Plays under control and has shown the ability to take good steps out of his stance and use good leverage. Gets under blockers' pads pretty consistently, despite his height. Can be physical at the point of attack and able to hold his ground. Can play half a man and secure a gap. Has very active hands and uses them to good, violent effect. Shoots them coming off the ball, gets good position and can shed after he engages. Shows the strength to create separation, but sometimes tries to spin out of blocks. Needs to do a better job of locating the ball during plays, but he won't blindly run upfield when left unblocked. Senses when something is up, stays low and square, and shuffles. Has good speed for a big guy and flashes a closing burst. Can run a bit upright, but he's athletic enough for an interior lineman to provide support on the perimeter. Has a good motor and will pursue, but (like many high school prospects) needs to learn to do it every snap. He's a disruptive pass rusher who can push back a blocker and collapse the pocket. Has the active hands to knock a blocker out of his cylinder or knock his hands down. Runs line twists effectively, attacking tight off of the penetrator's butt, but sometimes telegraphs the stunt. Well-built and pretty fundamentally sound, Adams is a very good prospect. With additional bulk and fine-tuning, he can grow into a very good college player. From ESPN Quote Link to comment
