Where is Glenn?

I would say Glenn needed to redshirt this year. After all of the nagging injuries he had in pre-season I was hoping he would use it and get himself healthy. That ankle he hurt agianst A&M last year just didnt ever heal and i think trying to nurse that may have caused other injuries to occur. I just hope he gets himself healthy and is able to come back next year and contribute. I really think when he is a 100% he may be the best back we have. He showed flashes of greatness last year. He isnt as good a reciever as Lucky, but he runs much harder and sees the lanes much better.

Good question, but who cares. He isnt nearly as good as Lucky, Castille is the same mold as him only better, Helu is more productive overall due to speed and quickness. Casualty of life. Yes we will have better management next year and Glenn will still be standing on the sideline because until Lucky leaves or graduates he IS THE MAN

I care. He is not just someone to use up and throw away. Glad you're so in love with the Golden Boy. He is a good athlete and has had a good year. I and many others are concerned with the way Glenn has been treated, however, whether or not you agree with it is not important to me. And Lucky is THE MAN, as you put it, because the coaches have cottled him all the way through and we all know he is Callahan's choice.

I love how everyone hates on Lucky. Guy is in the top 5 in rushing yards in the conference and is the most complete back we have as far as running, catching and blocking. He also doesn't turn the ball over, has shown tough running through out the year and he does all of this with half of Husker Nation doubting and mocking him. Show the guy some support. What more do you want from him?

I love how so many others are singing this guy's praises.

He is top 5 in rushing in a 12 team conference so he's....middle of the pack.

He has huge passing stats bc/ Keller checked down to him non-stop. How productive was the offense during that time?

Also, tuff running? We must not be watching the same games. Last week was the tuffest I've ever seen him run. Tuff as rain! Normally he goes down at the first hint of contact.

He does pass protect very well

He is a pass catching 3rd down specialist who ended up with more playing time than he should have. Maybe bc/ the others are injured and/ or too young. Maybe because he is in favor with Billy C.

Look I'm not saying he sucks but the numbers are decieving. He is no where near what we have come to expect from a tailback at this school.

If Glenn can get healthy he should get equal playing time next year. Will he? Not with Billy C.

The fact is Glenn can’t stay healthy. It has nothing to do with the coaches favoring one guy over another one. If he would fight off the injuries he would play. I agree with the person that said he should have red-shirted this year. He basically wasted a year by playing the limited number of snaps he was able to play this year. I think it is naïve of people to say that Callahan only plays certain people because they are his “guy”. If I’m not mistaken Glenn played quite a bit his freshman and sophomore years when he was healthy. Also wouldn’t he be one of Callahan’s “guys” since he recruited him? Maybe just maybe the other guys are better then he is. I know that is hard from some to believe but it is possible.

As far as the few who bash Lucky. He is on pace to have over 1600 rushing/receiving yards for the season. What is wrong with that? Right now he has 950 rushing and 590 receiving for 140 per game. I’ll take that any year from the starting RB. He may be the Best All Purpose Back in the stinking Big 12 as well. His numbers certainly lean that way. Also to compare him to past backs is kind of unfair. It would be like comparing past WR to the current ones. THey are asked to do totally different things.

the guy is a typical wco prototype. he will never be a big time force in the NFL, not an Adrian Peterson or anthing like him, not a Heisman guy either. toughness and field vision are lacking in his makeup, he will see spot duty only in the NFL. yes, we are fortunate to have him on our team.

You want numbers:

- He's on pace to break 1000 yards rushing this season and already has over 500 yards receiving on a team that is averaging 310 in the air

- He's only had 1 fumble to my knowledge

- He leads the team in yards/attempt at 4.9 (that is called tough running and I've seen it in the Nev, Wake, ISU, aTm, KU and KSU games)

He's been done wrong since he got there. I know it. I've seen it.

are you on the team?

are you at practice everyday and see everything?

are you Cody Glenn?

if you answer no to each of these, then how the hell do know that he has been done wrong since he has been here?

Yeah, the coaches are at practice every day and made some killer QB decisions, eh?

Couldn't agree more. If the Huskers make a bowl, look for Lucky to top 1800 total yards. The last NU back with that many total yards? Try Ahman Green. This guy is a bonafide stud and I don't think it is fair to compare him to Adrian Peterson. I think what Adrian Peterson has done as a rookie should show that he is, perhaps, a flippin freak of nature. Lucky broke so many tackles this past Saturday that it is laughable that some are still bashing him.

Cody Glenn has a tough, punishing running style, and is always too hurt to play. That is an anomaly, and darn near an oxymoron. I think that either the kid is not very tough, or he has awful luck. He better step it up next year or he will be passed up completely by Castille regardless of injury(especially if Castille holds onto the darn ball).

No i'm not on the team, no i'm not at practice everyday, and no i'm not Cody Glenn. But I am Cody Glenn's bestfriend from back home. I do know what is said to him and what is said to the other players. I talk to Cody though out each week and know about how much he is going to play because of what is said to him.

Before the Texas game, Callahan came to him and said "you ready? you're going to be getting the rock this game"...HA what a joke. ONE CARRY! The staff has done that to him repeatedly throughout his career.

I've also seen late in the games when NU is loosing horribly or winning by a huge margin (Kstate) where they will ask Glenn to come in. Why in God's name would Cody want to go in for the last 2 mintues of the Kstate game and be in there for the 3rd string QB to take a knee? ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! Why not let him get some carries while putting the romp on Kstate.

Breakout game against ISU last year, decent game the next and falls of face of the earth until we play A&M and they let him play in front of his home crowd and he balls off again. Yes he got injured but geeze. Then we sit him out again until this year against USC where he has another decent game. He had a slighty PCL injury the last play of the game, but WHY WASTE his whole JUNIOR year for that one game? He's had no piece of the pie besides that.

Bottom line is he's been giving less oppurtunities than ANYONE else on the team and he's done more with what he's given. He's been treated like crap and lied to. Jordan doesnt like him, and Cally has his head so far up Lucky's ass he hasnt seen Cody's potential.

I DO know what the hell i'm talking about and hope you have a nice day.

This just begs the question: why does his position coach not like him. I think that is the point that is driving this situation. It can't be all "poor Cody". He has to be doing SOMETHING that is putting him in an unfavorable position. If he can't think of anything, maybe he should go to Jordan and ask what he can do to get his shot or what he did to get pushed back.

He has ankle and hamstring injuries. Once you hurt them you need to be off them for a few weeks. He kept reinjuring them and now he's done for the season.

Hamstrings suck. I had my first injury to one (not even that bad, no complete tear or anything even close) in September playing softball and I still can't go full speed now in our fall basketball league. I know I don't want to do it again. Can't imagine competing on a high level, collegiate, or any level with one that still isn't ready.

If that's true then that sucks. But I know a lot of things that I tell a lot of my friends and relatives....knowing that I may not be giving them the FULL story. I.E. - BOTH SIDES OF THE STORY. I'm sure that if you are his friend, what he is telling you and what you are hearing are likely a little biased.
