Friggin' Tiger fan!

Recommended Posts

I will say it takes "nads" to run your mouth at someone else's home, but I do believe that there is a common theme around college football is that you either love or hate NU, there is no in between. Living in Iowa I aways catch grief for not being a Hawkeye fan, and that if you live in Iowa it is your birthright to hate NU, by the way Iowa is the "CYCLONE STATE". Anyway like i said before, most of the people that tend to do this basically has it in bedded in their mind that they are to hate the Huskers, because when it is all said and done, they only wish they could be fans of one of the greatest programs ever!!! :corndance

Valid point. I think beating Nebraska is still big for programs and even when we are crazy down they relish taking us to the woodshed. If this is what payback feels like then I'm done with it. ehhe

Exactly, say if we lose at ISU this year, believe me, Ames will be like they just won the NC.

I'm sure there are decent Tiger fans out there, I sure wish one would've been sitting behind me.

There are a lot of good Nebraska fans out there but I had a horrible one sitting behind me. People here have said how horrible Mizzou fans are in Columbia, I can tell you I have never heard so much profanity coming out of anyone's mouth in Columbia as I heard from this Nebraska fan last night. Sadly there were some kids in the area which made it that much more inappropriate. On the upshot the Nebraska fans finally had enough of him during the second half and turned on him. He moved on not long after.

Now after he was gone I do have to say that I was very impressed by the rest of the fans in my section. The Nebraska fans who I went to the game with left early in the 3rd quarter and I struck up several conversations with those sitting around me. All in all it was enjoyable but keep in mind that bad fans exist on both sides.

I had a similar situation at the San Jose State game. A guy was letting loose with profanity and ripping the team and calling the defense BlackSkirts (when will that get old?). We were winning 14-6 and the guy let's go of another round of profanity and all along his 8 year old son is sitting there enjoying his food and soda. His son looks up and says "Dad why are so mad? We're winning!"

Some fans around, including me pile on him and not another word from this joker the rest of the day.

Thank you 8-year old wherever you are.

Okay guys we know they are out there. There are jerks in every stadium. But over all every program has great fans.

I attended the game last night with my son. He is a Missouri fan, and he got hasseled several times while in town. His buddy was talking a little, but nothing disrespectful. Just happy to be here and seeing the sights.

I told them to just ignore them, we all did and nothing came of it, but it sure could have.

We are no different than any other fan base. The majority of every teams fans are great people, just like ours. Jerks every where no question.

I sat right behind these two MU fans. What I was surprised by is they stood up for a lot of plays and actually cheered for their team unlike a lot of people in the West Stadium. Then in the 4th quarter when people started leaving the guy said "I feel bad cheering over here around all these NU fans I'm gonna go to the MU section." He was pretty cool so just to show you that not all Tiger fans are pricks.

I was sitting in Section 4 Row A (East Staduim, right behind the Husker bench) and right behind me a Tiger fan. He was a complete fool in his early 20's. He kept ripping the Huskers and ripping Pelini. The Husker fans around him asked him to be quiet. He said, "What I can't cheer for my squad? I paid for these tickets!!"

This kid was so rude the 40 year lady beside me turned around and said, "I wish you would Shut Up!"

"What I can't cheer for my squad?"

Then he randomly let out with: "Hey how's Lawrence Phillips doing? How's Thunder Collins doing?"

Later in the 4th quarter the West side of the stadium was clearing out and he said, (laughing) "Look we're sending them home early there is nobody here!"

Then in the closing seconds one of our backup lineman was talking to his mom and dad and this fool yells, "How come you're not in there? Not good enough?" Ricky Henry just gives him the thumbs up with a "you're a retard" kind of look. Kid says, "scoreboard Henry. Scoreboard." Class. Just real class.

It's a amazing to me how two good years in a row brings these chumps out of the woodwork. Two good years and they want to talk all this trash. We'll see what happens, hell even the Columbia newspaper says the Tigers will be lucky to finish 8-4 next season.

Anyway thanks to the Tigers for showing up once every 30 years.

The lesson learned from this goofball was one guy can ruin it for a number of people. I really had nothing against Mizzou before, while now I hope they lose every game. On the flip side, had we had a civil, level headed Mizzou fan sitting behind us we would've congratulated him on the win and probably cheered for them to have a good rest of the season. Not now, this kid just spoiled it.

I'm sure there are decent Tiger fans out there, I sure wish one would've been sitting behind me.

I wish Husker fans had it in 'em sometimes to piss on cars and key cars and crap on car hoods and be disrespectful when in another team's house.

Anyway, I had to vent.

To base your feelings for an entire team/fan base over one jackass is almost as stupid as the fan you are talking about. Overall I had a great experiance at the game. Struck up a number of long conversations with Husker fans ranging from 16 to 60 and got along wonderfully in SEC. 38. Enough to where the group my friend (fellow Tiger fan) and I were around were joking back and forth through out the game. Laughing and talking threw much of the game and we recieved handshakes and congrats by a good 30-40 fans as they left our section.

But on the walk from Brewsky's to the Staduim for kick off we had two NU jackasses messing with us. One who thought it was funny to talk sh#t about MU and Missouri as a state while making attempts to step on the heels of my shoes as I walked for about 5 blocks straight. He would occasionally make good on the try and give me a "flat tire". He would then laugh the play off an apoligy, only to start right back up. They other who got quite a kick out of slapping us on the back and saying those Tigers are going to be tough. Except he kept slapping us harder and harder. Enough to were I had to threaten to remove his arm from his body for him to stop. Needless to say I have a bruise that is the outline of a hand in the middle of my back.

If I acted like you are I would have posted about how NU fans are complete jackasses and how I hate Nebraska now. Go on a little rant about how much they suck and so on. Instead I only hate those two jackass, and if i ran across them again with no cops around, I might use all 6'4, 250 lbs of myself to teach them a leason in manners.

Anyway, I had a great time and look forward to returning in two years.

i stopped reading right at your post.. so this maybe have been said, but i can tell you right now im gonna say it again if it has....

i was in the student section, right by 3 mizzou fans. right after we scored to tie the game at 7, there was a little conversation going on. the 3 mizzou fans flat out admitted that the fans at nebraska don't even compare to mizzou. he said people at mizzou are absolute jackasses and it was times like that where he actually felt bad about that. he said we treated them very well, and said the only fan base he could compare to that is OU, because OU kicked their ass, and didn't say a word.... so your claim that its judging the whole fanbase off one person is pretty much not true. when even you're own fans admit that the majority of the fanbase are jackasses, its probably pretty true.

Well there are horrible fans in every fanbase and we all should know that. For example alot of people have had "bad" experiences in Boulder and say CU has horrible fans. I've met several nice CU fans and only a few a-hole CU fans. The problem is you tend to remember the a-holes and forget the nice ones and then label that fanbase as a bunch of jerks. Sorry for your bad luck with the two jerks fro daddy and I'm glad that you don't think we are all a bunch of a$$es. Just as an example to all of you last season at the KSU game just before the game started two K-State fans sat two rows behind me and my dad. It was his first football game he's ever gone to for NU so I thought I would be nice and turn around and tell these two good luck today. Well both of the a-holes said, "F*&k you!" to me as soon as I said good luck today. Obviously I got my revenge when we kicked the ever living hell out of them. I will say though that to this day....................I STILL HATE K-STATE AND ALWAYS WILL!

Football fan bases are a microcosm of society, nice people and not so nice people. Football trips are fun and more enjoyable if we would all realize this is just a football game.

My mother gave me great advice growing up in small town Missouri and I have tried to always live by this small rule, ESPECIALLY when traveling to sporting events. In fact the rule is pretty simple as it is the golden rule... "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" if we all acted accordingly, we wouldn't have to read these stories of poor fan behavior.

If those of us who are big fans of our teams stop the stupid behavior when we see it among our own, maybe these stories will subside.

Good Luck to the Huskers

ya gotta cut MU a lil slack, they been on the other side of a 52-17 score many many timnes against us. That being said, they'll get their come uppance against my Longhorns and probably Okiehoma as well, so they aint goin to no national championship which is really all their seaosn is about so in the end their season is just gonna be another failure.

I suppose i have to throw my two cents in here. Last time I was in Columbia their fans threw batteries at our fan bus, so I'm not really surprised that there were some idiot Tiger fans at the Husker game. With that said, I really can't judge much because when KU and MU get together, it's never a good situation.

But I can honestly say I've NEVER met an MU fan with class. Except of course Tuff Tiger. Sounds like a stand up guy. <_<

Man I hope MU doesn't win a national Championship. Sorry Tuff Tiger, I just can't bring myself to want it to happen. Even if they are the Big 12 representative. And it has nothing to do with the beat down saturday...
