Ok so here are my three suprises

1. Our offense will contain more option than anyone ever thought

2. Our running backs will be all conference backs x2

3. Our defence will be top 5 In the country #1 in big 10

3.5 our recievers

Short falls

1.our kicking game

2.our quarterback play first four games(leadership)

3.our lack of urgency on offence at any given time

Now there are other areas but I'm wondering what you guys are thinking

Surprises

1) FB makes a comeback.

2) 5 man line on D

3) Offense sets a school record for number of long TD's

Possible Failures

1) Lack of depth at QB,RB,TE and LB could make injuries hard to overcome

2) QB&WR not on same page on option routes.

3) Fumbles by Freshmen skill players

5-man DLine is an interesting thought. Especially considering the power run tendencies of the Big 10 and how much the coaches are talking up the depth on the line.

I gotta agree with you on Failures #2. That stuff takes time, repetition, and chemistry.

Surprises:

1. New offense is really good really fast.

2. T-mart throws the ball around the field

3. Any of the Freshmen running backs

Failures:

1. O-line same as it has been

2. T-mart continues to look like a Heisman winner against weak teams and a high school player against good defenses.

3. WR continues to be the position where players careers go to die.

Pleasant surprises:

1.) Mario Bondi makes us realize we can get along without Alex Henery.

2.) Linebackers not named Lavonte start to make tackles.

3.) Martinez got glue fingers over the offseason. No more fumbles.

Fail:

1.) The glue wears off.

2.) Run game breaks down vs. fast linebackers

3.) The word ACL is in a September headline.

Surprises:

1. Bo Pelini bites through his tounge going crazy on a piece of gum.

2. Martinez makes a Denard Robinson-like leap in his passing game.

3. Steinkuhler becomes a force.

Failures:

1. Bo Pelini bites through his tounge going crazy on a piece of gum.

2. Cameron Meredith shaves.

3. One of our WRs makes Niles Paul look like Jerry Rice.

This makes no sense. How is the offense going to be really good if the O-line continues to suck? How is Martinez going to throw the ball around the field if WR continues to be the position where careers go to die?

Maybe I misunderstood the rules. It was more 3 things that could surprise or 3 possible failures. I wasn't thinking all 6 would or even could happen at together.

Better?

Three Suprises:

Martinez shows he can throw and makes significant improvement talent wise and slight improvement charechter wise.

Nebraska Beats ALL of the whose who of the BIG TEN. OSU, UW, MSU, UM, PSU,

Nebraska Plays for the National title.

Three failutres:

Nebraska loses to Northwestern

Nebraska gets hit with off the field issues.

Nebraska gets thrown into an excruciating coaching drama story after the season ends.

1. Rex is who we thought he was.

2. Our defense is a man (but not 40).

3. Playoffs?!?! No. Rose Bowl? Yes.

1. We couldn't do diddly poo on offense and we couldn't complete a pass.

2. In the words of Kieth Jackson, "FUMBLE!"

3. You play to win the game. Nebraska won't for every game.

Surprise

1. The true freshmen will have a huge impact. Turner wont get many yards receiving, but his punt and kickoff returns will be electrifying. Aaron Green will post > 800 yards by seasons end. Braylon Heard will have ~400 yards.

2. Taylor Martinez will be injured for more than one game. In this timeframe, Brion Carnes will exhibit great control and leadership reminiscent of his uncle. We will have a QB controversy before the Bowl season.

3. Bake and Crick will total more than 17 sacks between them. Joe Carter will have more sacks than Camstache.

Fails

1. None of our WR will eclipse 500 yards receiving.

2. Our run D will give up more than one 250 yard rushing game.

3. Taylor Martinez will have more fumbles than runs over 20 yards.

Link to comment

1. T-Mart throws for 1500 yards and rushes for 2000

2. We have three 1000 yard rushers at rb (rex, abdula, green)

3. Our blackshirts hold teams to an av. 10 points a game like 09

1. The "O" sputters at the end of the season and we have another holiday bowl.

2. Our Black shirts allow more then 17 points per game

3. Injuries hit the team like the black plague hit england

Link to comment

1. Martinez gains pocket presence and improves overall as a passer

2. Courtney Osborne becomes a stand out safety

3. Jamal Turner takes a couple returns to the house

1. Turnovers continue to be a problem

2. Martinez goes down again and Carnes is forced to step up

3. Bubba is in KC

Surprises

1. Martinez again looks like a Heisman candidate against poor defenses.

2. Roy Helu (who was a VERY good back) is not overly missed because of Burkhead/Heard/Green/Abdullah.

3. Kyler Reed has an outstanding year with many more receptions but his YPC drops somewhat.

Fails

1. Despite the pre-season chatter the offensive line is no better than last year. At times it looks worse.

2. Martinez still hasn't learned how to secure the football and remains an average (at best) passer.

3. The defensive line gets pushed around some by better offensive lines in the Big Ten.
