huskersrule95
Penn State coach Joe Paterno suffered injuries to his right shoulder and hip when a receiver ran into him during practice Sunday. Paterno was "blindsided" by a player running a drill during but "walked away after the collision," according to a statement released Monday by the team. Paterno sustained at least one hairline fracture, a source told ESPN's Joe Schad. But the 84-year-old coach was not expected to require surgery, said Dr. Wayne Sebastianelli, Penn State's director of athletic medicine. Paterno was taking notes when receiver Devon Smith, a 5-foot-7, 157-pound junior, ran into the coach. Paterno walked off the field at the end of practice but was cornered by physicians who insisted he be examined. "He's come back from worse," the source told Schad. My link Quote Link to comment

wildman
I hope the best for Mr. Paterno. But since this is the second time in the last couple years. I bet he'll wisen up and be in full pads for the next practice lol. Quote Link to comment

Maybe do the Bear Bryant thing and be the eye in the sky. Quote Link to comment
gobiggergoredder
He's probably at risk just with a rise/fall in the barometric pressure. Quote Link to comment
okaive
He is definitely an icon, but seeing this year to be his last. Quote Link to comment
OmahaPlaya
I think he doesn't want to retire cause he still remembers what happen to Bear Bryant once he retired. Quote Link to comment
HuskerT
The guy is definitely a legend, but its really sad when they hang on too long. Quote Link to comment
ronsss
Not many men go on like he has, but man, you got to retire some day,,,physically he,s getting too old for the sideline, but i am not sure what its like at 84. Quote Link to comment
huKSer
Paterno was taking notes when receiver Devon Smith, a 5-foot-7, 157-pound junior, ran into the coach. I heard he was tweeting Gammons some inside poop on Starling, while updating his Facebook account on his iPad 2. Get that guy off of technology. What???? I think our secondary can't wait to play Penn St. Quote Link to comment
NUance
From Paterno to all you young whipper snappers who think he should retire: Quote Link to comment
