Apathy
There should be a trophy named after Suh like the there is with Rimmington and Butkus. The House of Spears trophy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f3qobyvv1AI 2 Quote Link to comment
zoogs
Suh welcomed Tom Brady to the NFL last year. Quote Link to comment
Count 'Bility
Suh is just flatout introducing FOOTBALL to the NFL 2 Quote Link to comment
Scarlet Overkill
Can you even imagine if he had competent coaching a couple of years earlier?? Quote Link to comment
Scratchtown
does anyone ever notice that SUH is starting to become a personal foul every time he touches the qb....have some self control Suh. 3 Quote Link to comment
Husker Richard
does anyone ever notice that SUH is starting to become a personal foul every time he touches the qb....have some self control Suh. Not much he can do. The Cutler call last year was BS and this play looks worse than it is because the helmet came off (which Suh had nothing to do with). Quote Link to comment
Scarlet Overkill
well, I just wouldn't let him play anymore. (sarcasm). Quote Link to comment
Karsaire
IDK, I would somewhat agree that this play is a little on the excessive side. The play was pretty clearly over. I don't think suh was necessarily in the wrong, or is a "dirty" player. But of this play, and the play w/ cutler (which is completely fine imho), I think this play was a bit worse. There wasn't a reason to slam him, he was done with the play by the time suh layed a hand on him. It was a strong finish to the play but... Quote Link to comment
Karsaire
but at the expense of almost 100% positive chance of getting a personal foul for your team? Agressive play is amazing and absolutely needed by suh, but at the exchange of not playing smart? Quote Link to comment
zoogs
That is called a tackle. Not even by the head or neck (in fact, Suh has both hands there to cradle the head and not let it snap backwards or anything). He is not making a vicious hit. He is not spearing some guy in the chest with his helmet. He is wrestling a nearly stationary man to the turf. And kinda gradually, mind you. Quote Link to comment
CO_hawk
He is a beast, if I were his coach he would have gotten a mouthful on that one though. Suh belongs in the MMA Quote Link to comment
Husker_x
Looked to me like he had a grip on the shoulder pad. I guess the shoulder is kind of like the head...cuz...you know...they're right next to each other. Quote Link to comment
Karsaire
That is called a tackle. I guess I'm not really calling into question the validity of the hit and more of the fact that it blows that suh needs to start playing "smart" according to the new saftey standards of the league or he will get the yellow left and right. I'm all for just knocking the crap out of someone. In fact I hate pretty much every new standard about saftey that's come out...it's football. But we know that the rules aren't changing, and football is as much a metal game as a physical game. Again, I don't support the rules, I just think it's somewhat lapsed of suh to blatanly ignore the rules he knows are in place. It does only hurt the team. Instead of 2&10 on the 37 or whatever, now it's 1@10 on almost the 20 yard line. Pretty big difference. Though one could argue he is doing it preseason to set a tone, and that it doesn't really matter in preseason. Quote Link to comment
Scarlet Overkill
Your last sentence is exactly what I was going to suggest - set the tone and pretty much put the fear into future QB's. Quote Link to comment
