Gumbercules
While the bad conference records are indictment enough of a coach who clearly doesn't really know what it takes to win in the Big12/10, the way his teams finish the season really tell a story. Last year, after winning three in a row, including beating Texas, Nebraska lost five of their last six games. This year, after beating Iowa, Nebraska has lost seven of their last 8. Two years ago, Nebraska lost 10 of their last 12. Four years ago, they lost six of their last 9. Over the last four years, Doc has gone 12-31 in February and March. That includes an 0-2 record in the NIT. Fire this chump Monday morning. Quote Link to comment

RedRedJarvisRedwine
We need to stop rationalizing as to why Doc needs to go! His record speaks for itself! He has no connection to this team and I think Doc is really happy that he is gonna get PAID on his way out the door! Quote Link to comment

Which is the other really sad thing. Doc's teams have only gotten worse, the more of his own players he's brought in. Quote Link to comment

I do remember a couple decent years. I think he made it to 3rd rd NIT once, and then another to the semis of the Conference tournament, but overall, I perceive that last 2 coaching eras to be no higher or lower than one another. Last season (2010-2011) was a decent year for Doc as well (his own players), they were actually on the NCAA bubble for a while, and many losses were very close to very good teams, and also beat texas and Missouri, tho the season ended horribly, and yes confirming your analysis. Lyons in the Sea of Red.
The sad thing is we consider an NIT birth a "good year" Quote Link to comment
flatwaterfan
Doc has lost the team. The play where Williams dribbled all the way down and slammed the ball without being challenged was just flat out embarrassing. They got to do something different & fast. Doc needs to pull in some major recruits fast or they will be pulling the plug. He's on life support and needs a couple of miracle recruits. Needs to put Christopher on medical, let Fahro go. Get a commitment from Diaz on whether he is in or out. Cure his feet overnight. Get Biggs, Chris Thompson and Randle in the class. Quote Link to comment
HANC
As mentioned above concerning Doc and Barry....... wasn't Maric a Collier recruit. He was probably the "best" player Doc has had here, and if I am right, he wasn't even a kid Doc recruited. Doc era will officially end on Thursday ! Quote Link to comment
flatwaterfan
I'd agree that Maric was the best. Ade had a nice senior season and was probably his best recruit. I have hopes for the incoming class but we need some star power to compete in the b1g. Quote Link to comment
PaulCrewe
Jeter was probably Doc's best recruit. The best recruiting job Doc did with Maric was talking him into coming back for his senior year and not joining the Austrailian National Team. Quote Link to comment
Enhance
A painful end to a painful season. I see very little reason for keeping him around. When a guy like Sipple, who usually buffers the more aggressive opinions, comes out and basically says he thinks it's time for Sadler to go, I think that's saying something. Quote Link to comment
Haspula
This team lacks a center. Quote Link to comment
It'sNotAFakeID
So what say you if Doc gets us to the semis of the B1G tournament? Which, if it started today could be possible as we would play Indiana first and then Wisconsin. Quote Link to comment
