Pizza Hut Developing "The World's First Subconscious Menu"

Calling it "the world's first subconscious menu," the pizza giant has since October been testing a special eye-tracking tablet with some of the diners of its 300 locations across the U.K. The digital menu shows diners a canvas of 20 toppings and builds their pizza, from one of 4,896 combinations, based on which toppings they looked at longest. To try again, a diner can glance at a "restart" button.

"Finally the indecisive orderer and the prolonged menu peruser can cut time and always get it right," a Pizza Hut spokesperson said in a statement, "so that the focus of dining can be on the most important part - the enjoyment of eating!"
The menu, built by Swedish eye-tracking firm Tobii Technology, is the product of six months of retina-scanning development and "psychological research," according to Pizza Hut, which is testing it for now only in the U.K. A potential expansion into the United States could be in the cards, based on how well the pilot system works.

Man charged with making threats against Darren Wilson
USA Today, posted 10:54 a.m. EST December 3, 2014
SEATTLE — A Washington state man arrested for allegedly posting Internet threats to kill the white police officer who shot and killed a black teenager in Ferguson, Mo., made his first appearance in federal court Tuesday.
The U.S. Attorney's Office says Jaleel Tariq Abdul-Jabbaar of Kirkland was arrested early Tuesday. They say he began posting threats to kill the officer and members of his family on a Facebook page soon after the Aug. 9 shooting of Michael Brown. The criminal complaint only refers to former officer Darren Wilson as D.W. He has since resigned from the police department.
The complaint says Abdul-Jabbaar posted inflammatory messages for months that called on others to join him on a trip to Ferguson to "give back the bullets" that the officer fired at Brown.
According to charging documents, the FBI says Abdul-Jabbaar posted on Facebook on Nov. 11: "Are there any REAL BLACK MEN that would love to go down to Ferguson Missouri to give back those bullets that Police Officer (D.W.) fired into the body of Mike Brown. If we're unable to locate Officer (D.W.) then We'll return them to his wife and if not her then his children."

The guy threatened Wilson, then posted stuff saying if he couldn't get Wilson then the wife and children would be targeted. It people like THIS that are the problem.

Oklahoma HS files lawsuit over blown call in playoff game

Judge Bernard Jones has set a 1:30 p.m. Wednesday hearing in Oklahoma County district court to determine whether OKC Douglass deserves a replay of its Nov. 28 quarterfinal loss to Locust Grove.

Chad Smith, who defended former Tahlequah Sequoyah quarterback Brayden Scott against the OSSAA, said he agrees with Jones that Douglass attorneys face a high hurdle in proving that the Trojans will suffer “irreparable harm” if the Class 3A playoffs go on without them.
The Trojans allege that the OSSAA acted arbitrarily and capriciously in denying their petition to overturn Locust Grove’s 20-19 win because of a penalty that was incorrectly enforced, wiping out Douglass’ go-ahead touchdown with 1:04 left.
“It’s an interesting case,” Smith said. “You have to show a pattern where (the OSSAA) doesn’t apply its rules consistently.”
And that’s hard to do, he said, when the OSSAA has a written policy against honoring protests. The OSSAA’s board of directors upheld that policy last Wednesday, denying Douglass’ appeal to replay the game wholly or in part.

You don't see this every day:

The Climax-Fisher High School (Minnesota) girls basketball team packed a whole lot into their 62-58 victory over Bagley High School on Tuesday. Most importantly, the win ended Climax-Fisher's 84-game losing streak. The streak was so long that, according to The Forum, it was head coach Jonathon Vonesh's first win with the team, having previously been 0-48. Hell, it was the first win for anybody on the team! But the way it came about is just as improbable.

Climax-Fisher only dressed eight players for the game, and four of them fouled out before regulation was over, meaning they started playing the first overtime 4-5. Then, two minutes into the second overtime another player fouled out. On offense Climax-Fisher didn't make a field goal in either overtime, instead running an offense designed to draw fouls, where they went 12-17 from the free throw line. On defense they played a zone, with one player under the basket, one at the free throw line, and the final one on the perimeter. You can see video of their zone onThe Forum's story.

The "continuing story" novels by K.W. Jeter were crap. I would hope any movie sequel would ignore their existence.

So far nothing has come out indicating that BR2 will be based on Jeter's books which I remember were liked by some and met with lukewarm feelings by others. I loved the murkiness of the first movie. I'm never confident in any sequel regardless of genre so if anything maybe this movie could possibly be a decent sequel since my bar is always low for sequels regardless lol. Still kind of intriguing.
