HANC
Poor Brett.... He has all the ability in the world, as he proved last year, but obviously, he has hit a mental block (imo..unprofessional). Dr. Jack helped us out a lot in the TO era.... and yes, I am being sarcastic when I say "bring him back"....but Maher's problems must be mental. How do you go from last year.....automatic and booming punts to the performance this year. He has a handful of punts under 20 yards (HS material) and has missed FG that should be "chip shots" for a guy of his caliber. Nebraska better get his head on straight, because the kicking game almost and WILL cost us a game in the future. Quote Link to comment
melscott62
i have no idea what our back up is like, but I think we should have someone else punt. it reminds my of a baseball player that goes into a slump at the plate and then his play in the field slips. Quote Link to comment
The Red & White Knight
Yeah... I mean.... even if we don't have the best punter or FG kicker for a backup, I'd rather take someone who is consistent at 30 or 40 yards rather than 16 yard shank punts. I don't hate him, but we need more options, that's all . Quote Link to comment
The Snork
He's hotter'n a $2 pistol ... about as reliable too! Quote Link to comment
walksalone
He's really Jekyll and Hyde. It's scary from week to week, you've got no idea what you're gonna get... Quote Link to comment
HuskerfaninOkieland
Quite honestly, I think he did better with the rugby style punting we seen earlier this season. Quote Link to comment

MLB 51
Quite honestly, I think he did better with the rugby style punting we seen earlier this season. I was wondering if we would try that today. Looked really good last week. Quote Link to comment

Paul in WI
We need to have someone else punt and let him focus on the place kicking. I can handle a missed FG here and there, but 16 yard punts are inexcusable. Let the kid focus on one task. Quote Link to comment
The Dude
I was really, really hoping we didn't have to rely on him for a late field goal to tie the game. Glad we could get the score on an awesome play call by Tim Beck. Quote Link to comment

K-Town Husker
Maher may be in a slump but I think he has another problem. Last season he had to prove himself and he had his head in the game all season. Prior to this season he was placed on some watch lists. Between last years success and being placed on the watch lists he got another problem to deal with. A big EGO. I don't think Maher has his head in the game because of his ego. Just my opinion after watching him since High school. Fame will mess with you. Quote Link to comment
Count 'Bility
Must've been great sex. I brought this up earlier this year and never got one response. Say what you will. I heard he lost his virginity during fall camp. Been a different person since and it's spilling over onto the field. Quote Link to comment
