Hedley Lamarr
^^^^and that has what to do with athletic ability? You can be a head case and still run fast and jump high... Uhh, after QB there was basically nowhere for him. They even gave him a shot to return kicks and he couldn't catch the ball... Neither can many of our return guys. Brion Carnes is a damn fine athlete that doesn't fit anywhere on the football team at this level. He is another Marcus Mendoza. Great athlete that just didn't fit on the football field. Your first premise was he is a head case which somehow you related to athletic ability. Now he cannot catch so he is not a great athlete. If he cannot catch why was he moved to WR and not defense? If that don't work out maybe he should transfer to a smaller school that will allow him to be able to play. Not fielding a punt and kick has very little to do with athletic ability as well. When someone says a guy is a great athlete it almost always relates to. 1. Speed 2. Hops 3. Agility You will never hear someone say "wow that guys is a great athlete he can catch a ball" or "what a great athlete he can absorb a play book" people will say "what a great athlete he runs the 40 this fast and can jump this high" By your premise Santino Panico was an all star Quote Link to comment

At times during practice he would do nothing for quite long periods of time, from what I've heard. If he is such a great athlete, then why wasn't he at least on scout team doing something? Or on special teams? He did nothing. But let me guess, you're going to tell me how the coaches don't know athletic ability? Quote Link to comment

flatwaterfan
I think Cooper was on the field playing dime. Later I saw Blatchford so Cooper might have goofed up. He can be inconsistent. I like Charles at FS and Harvey at SS. I like speed at FS. Harvey is a bigger hitter and I think is better at SS, although I am not sure if there is a difference in Bo's scheme. I am still wondering if Mo can crack the lineup somewhere. I wonder a bit about the way they do dime personnel. To me if you bring in extra receivers you should bring in CB type players, we tend to lean towards safety types when we go dime. To me a dime guy should be a guy like Mitchell who is quick and should be able to stick with a slot guy. Generally slot guys are smaller & quicker. If they keep the TE's on the field then I can see using a safety type or a very speedy OLB. But then I suppose you can run the slot guy towards the LOS and block a smaller guy easier on draws, jail breaks etc, so it would be better with a safety type that way. Don't forget Gangwish at SLB Gangwish moved to DE and has practiced with the 3 deep. They're putting weight on him now and he will be a factor next year. I know in practice our O-Line struggles to block him pretty severely. He's a hybrid type with an attitude. I didn't know they moved him. Thanks for the info! Quote Link to comment

It really was a decision he made based on opinions from, believe it or not, offensive coaches. They struggle to block him in practice and he has some absolutely sick pass rushes. They suggested it to him and he made the move. I've seen him make every one of our linemen look silly in practice. Hope he gets the chance. Quote Link to comment
BigRedBuster
Where does someone like King Frazier fit into the RB rotation? Quote Link to comment
Igetbored216
All pretty similar depth charts, so I won't add mine. I will say that I hope the Huskers pull in some o-linemen or have some currently on the roster that can play tackle. Rodriguez and Qvale are guards and don't have quick enough feet to play tackle (this was painfully obvious against great pass rushing teams). Also, Brion Carnes is a great athlete. Unfortunately, the coaches have been unable to find a spot for him on the team, which is not necessarily the coaches' fault. Guys can be great athletes but that doesn't always equate to greatness on the football field. Quote Link to comment
Saint Boseph
No one's crafted an updated, post-signing day depth chart on here to my knowledge so far with all the new recruits and attrition. But since the offense is pretty set with a lot of returning starters, I'm more curious on what you guys think of my Defensive projections. DE: 1. Randy Gregory 2. Jason Ankrah DT: 1. DJ Singleton 2. Harvey Jackson RCB: 1. Charles Jackson 2. Mohammed Seisay 3. Ciante Evans EDIT: If Charles Jackson is sticking at safety then my revised starters in the secondary would be LCB: J. Rose FS: Singleton SS: C. Jackson RCB: Seisay Quote Link to comment
Count 'Bility
I read somewhere that we're only returning 7 offensive starters? Where the hell did they get that. I think it was an ESPN early 2013 projection or somethin. Our offense has all but one starter back (center Justin Jackson). Even if you count Burkhead, that's still 9 back. Am i missing something. I guess on the line maybe? But Arod and Qvale still played enough to the point that they can easily be considered as starters. Quote Link to comment

Our offensive line starters change so much throughout the season that it probably throws some peoples figures off. I think ESPN counts anyone who started a game, but I could be wrong.
