RedRedJarvisRedwine
If Sumlin was worth two squirts he'd suspend him for the first two games. Quote Link to comment
ADS
Andy Katz @ESPNAndyKatz Manziel half suspension reminiscent of Lance Thomas investigation. If NCAA can't get people to talk, they have no case. Innocent or guilty. Quote Link to comment
StPaulHusker
He didn't suspend him last year for fighting. He is not going to do anything like that this year. Quote Link to comment
QMany
That is absolutely ridiculous. What is that A&M motto again? Quote Link to comment
BigRedBuster
This is another NCAA joke. However, if I were the coach, I wouldn't play him at all that game. I would be one pissed off mother f***er towards him and when I was done he would know and the rest of the world would know. The team goes out and wins him the Heisman (yes, it's a team award) and he answers by spending the off season being a jack azz and add way more distraction to the team than they need. AgMarauder04
LOLUMADBRO? There was zero evidence. ZERO. My understanding was this is America, where you are innocent until proven guilty. 1 Quote Link to comment
AgMarauder04
He was punished for some secondary by-law that basically says he should have known something dirty was going down.... So what about Clowney, Boyd, Bridgewater, and every other athlete who has signed lots and lots of memorabilia that's been sold? 1 Quote Link to comment

So he took a half game suspension out of the goodness of his heart? It's the OJ defense. "I'm not saying that I took money for autographs, but if I did, I deserve a small penalty." Mavric
That's not even a slap on the wrist. That's barely a wag of a finger. So he did something wrong so the NCAA insists on doing something but it's only enough to get everyone laughed at. Quality. I take it the understanding is they know what he did but can't prove it. 1 Quote Link to comment
AgMarauder04
He was suspended for violating a secondary rule, 12.5.2.2 which compels student athletes to take steps to prevent the sale of items bearing their names or likenesses. They had nothing on him taking money, so they threw some minor infraction out there so they could say they did SOMETHING. Quote Link to comment
RedRedJarvisRedwine
Ignorance is bliss. Put some of that money from your autograph signings aside to pay for the postage to send your Heisman back John notyetamanziel. Quote Link to comment

I'm under the impression that the brokers have been paid more by either the university or Manziels parents and won't talk now. Quote Link to comment
AgMarauder04
Army, are you really going to throw that accusation out there? I know you're better than that. Jarvis, do you know something? Obviously, you have proof. I'm sure you wouldn't make such grand claims without having the facts. Quote Link to comment
Army_Allen
Maybe not the university, but you and I both know his parents would go lengths for him to play, and those brokers don't just not comply with the NCAA for no reason. I'm guessing they paid them off after ESPN wouldn't pay them for footage of Manziel signing in the hotels. The brokers wanted cash and I know they got it, just not sure from where. IF you are naive enough to believe Manziel had no part in this knowing he was getting paid, then thats on you bub. Quote Link to comment
tmfr15
It could not be proven. It's over. But let's be honest. Johnny signed for money. If it can't be proven conclusively, there is no justification for taking the guy down. But this is a Ryan Braun like technicality. Johnny should not go around and tell everyone how innocent he is because it just makes him look more guilty. NOW.... let's get to football. Quote Link to comment
