I said no and 3 years or less. I'm not confident he'll be here that long.

I would've said yes and within three years if the media would leave him alone, fans would stop leaving early when we're getting blown out, if we never had injuries, if the 2010's weren't so wildly different than the previous 40 year time span, and if message board posters were more supportive. But there will always be "explanations".

Proper terminology. Fantastic!

I never expect anything. Just want to see us play the game like we used to. Win or lose, just know what we are doing, what our pattern is, recruit to that, kids playing hard and confident. Always being ready in the 4th quarter. These are the things I miss from the Nebraska I remember. These things have been gone for a long time.

People seem to forget it took Osborne about 20 years before he won his first MNC title

People seem to forget that Osborne played for National Titles long before he won one. People seem to forget that Osborne had 18 top 10 finishes, 24 top 15 finishes and NEVER finished a season unranked. Osborne's teams never showed up unprepared and his staff was never out coached even though sometimes the Huskers were outplayed on the field.

And fans still wanted to run his ass out of town.

I'd like to see Bo out-coach a Top 20 team first, then I'll adjust my expectations.

We waited 20 years for Tom Osborne, but the NCs didn't come until - by Tom's own admission - he changed his philosophy on defense and recruiting.

I wouldn't rule out Pelini, but he needs to change something. It's not the fans and the media holding him back. There's a problem with the product on the field. If Bo has a problem with some fans leaving during (yet another) blowout loss, that's another problem he's gonna need to work on.

It does feel like there's some talent that could explode nicely next season. The vast majority of Husker fans have toned down their expectations. Contending for our Big 10 division for starters. But there feels like a lot of scorched Earth from the past six seasons, and I don't think Bo can survive unless football at Nebraska starts looking like fun again. He has to stop pitting his players against the fans, the media and all those other entities you use to defer personal responsibility.

So much more goes into it then a simple yes or no. Schedule, others schedules, rankings, experience of players, etc.

The chances of him winning a NC anytime, whether it be at Nebraska or not are low. Just like every other coach in the nation.

Huskers had a 'favorable' schedule this year, according to just about everyone. Yet still managed to lose 4 games, 3 of them at home, and needed a hail mary to keep from having 5.

The future looks bright.

Ya, I agree with this. I've been told I'm a pessimist. If I stated this I can think of a few people on this board that would crucify me, not come visit the casino I work at, bring up my former profession and then question whether or not I'm a believer in Christ. :-)
