PaulCrewe
The player that will make the biggest difference against Baylor will be Walter Pitchford. He's our big guy in the middle, and there is no way Baylor's 7 footer will be able to defend the perimeter. He's going to need to be on top of his game if we are to pull out a victory. They play zone Quote Link to comment

This allows for some over playing by their guards having the guys back there protecting the rim. Quote Link to comment

Huskball
Here is the full ranking list according to the NCAA committee. Nebraska was the last bye (one spot out of the play-in game). Thank goodness to Iowa! Also, shows how they valued MI, WI, MSU...etc... --Providence was an AQ so they couldn't have played in the First Four Stewart Mandel @slmandel 4h Here's the committee's official 1-68 rankings if you're curious. pic.twitter.com/wBUQsDBKSU 1 Quote Link to comment

We don't seem to do well against the zone either - it's going to be a tough draw. Quote Link to comment

So perimeter shooting will be a key to the game on the offensive end? still say you have to attack the rim and try to get to the line and put them in foul trouble. Baylor goes about eight deep and during the peak of NU's run they averaged 28 our so FTs a game. Friday was a byproduct of what happens when this team settles for jumpers, especially their propensity to shot those jumpers early in the shot clock, the offense goes stale fast. Move the ball around the zone, flash Shields into the high post and still look to attack. That is how I'd attack them. Ray Ray hitting some shots will be huge as will. Their Biggs are athletic enough to get to the outside, so that old thing that had gone by the wayside some what these days, a shot fake, can create space to attack. Should be interesting. And on defense everyone needs to put a butt on someone. This team has more follow up dunks from misses than I've seen in a long time. Quote Link to comment

It'sNotAFakeID
Our matchup against Baylor is your classic offense versus defense contest: The Bears are more efficient than us on the offensive end, while the Huskers own the more efficient defense. Baylor shoots an effective field goal percentage of 51.5% whereas Nebraska shoots an effective field goal percentage of 48.4%. However, Baylor allows an effective field goal percentage of 48.6% whereas the Huskers allow an effective field goal percentage of 47.7%. Both teams turn the ball over roughly the same percentage of their possessions (14.9% to 15.1%). Nebraska, however, forces a higher turnover percentage from their opponents than Baylor (13.4% to 17%). Hopefully, Nebraska will wind up turning the ball over less and forcing more turnovers out of Baylor than is usual for them. Baylor is a dominant offensive rebounding team, getting an offensive rebound on around 40% of their possessions. But Nebraska does a good job of allowing opponents just one shot, rebounding the ball 73% of the time. Nebraska doesn't get a lot of offensive rebounds, but Baylor allows more offensive rebounds than normal. Both teams get to the line roughly the same amount of times, but Baylor doesn't foul as much as Nebraska. Nebraska is the better free throw shooting team. Baylor is the better passing team, but Nebraska does a better job preventing passes from becoming baskets. All in all, it's a very intriguing matchup and could come down to the wire. StPaulHusker
So. Score more than your opponent, turn the ball over less, and rebound and you have a 50-50 shot at winning. I like it. Let's do that. Quote Link to comment
