It depends on what position we are looking at him for. If it's WR we can offer immediate playing time. Could be an awesome nickle but we are stacked there so he wouldn't see the field for a while. We all know Bo covets system knowledge over athleticism, unless your super smart like Kalu and pick it up quick you ain't playing for a couple years.

I don't think this is as big of a deal as it's made out to be. Unless we've recruited a lot of really smart guys recently. I'm sure how much there is to learn varies by position but McMullen, Valentine, Collins, Maurice, Banderas, Rose, Alexander, Gerry, Kalu, Williams and Jones have all played as true or redshirt freshmen the last two years plus Cockrell in his first year here.

Every one of those players is out of necessity thou. Bo's history suggests he plays the guys with system knowledge over athleticism. It's the reason Thad Randall would always play last year, Pelini this year, even thou the replacements are clearly better, they make less mental mistakes so they play. We had no senior dline so Bo was forced to play them, same could be said about the whole defense. His history says he plays guys like Lance Thorell instead of CJ because he knew the system better. This year its Pelini because he's smart and knows the system, even thou he gets knocked on his butt half the snaps.

Nickle is loaded. Cockrell will be a senior, CJ a junior and Kalu a Sophomore. Saftey and corner equally as loaded with the 15 class coming in. A guy this talented will want to play early. He's an early enrollee, so a pitch to play WR as a freshman is very plausible as we need some help there. We already have three DBs enrolling early as well.

Nailed it. +1.

I say we pitch every position on the team to the kid and ask him what he'd like to play in college. To continue to take the next step forward, we simply have to get athletes like this in the program. We just need to stockpile talent now and figure out where we can use it later.

This kid has the skill set to play whichever he prefers at NU.

Sounds like he'll visit OSU too.

If he leaves Michigan, I feel this will be his landing spot.

In the position he is in, I don't understand why most kids jump ship early. Sure, if he always wanted to go to Nebraska or OSU but didn't have an offer till now and there is turmoil at UM....fine....jump and take the great offer.

BUT, if UM, OSU and Neb all had offered him and he really felt UM was the place for him before, why wouldn't you wait until you see who the new coach is? What happens if he really wants UM but doesn't like the turmoil, jumps ship and then UM goes out and hires the equivalent of the next Nick Sabin?

Unless those other offers are time sensitive where they force his hand, wait and jump later if your not impressed.

This likely would all be different if he wasn't planning on being an early enrollee. That won't happen if he plans on waiting on Michigan to hire a coach, if they want Harbaugh(I'm still not sure he'll be their guy)

In addition, the player doesn't know if the new coach will honor the offer from the last coach.
