When are you expecting Njoku to commit?

Should be early next week after his UCLA visit.

Conventional wisdom is that the Huskers are going to sign 3-4 more next week. However, it won't surprise me if they sign only 1 or 2 more. Frost is a man of his word and he's indicated he won't take a player just to fill a class.

- Coaches, including Frost, did an in-home with Houston after his visit so it seems very likely that he's a take and it sounds like he's N.

- Coaches also visited Parker's high school but no verification of an in-home by Frost. That young man is playing it close to the vest.

- Outside of those two, it seems like conventional scholarship offers would be risky, especially if there is bait in the water for grad transfers that could contribute immediately.

I think it's Houston and then either some grad transfers or 2020 guys start to commit.

Sounds like the grad transfer will not happen until after spring practice, but if they are looking for OLB they may pursue after the 6th.

So should we not be expecting another commit until after the Spring game or is there anyone on commit watch at the moment?

If anyone commits before the spring game I don't see if happening until spring game week. We have seen guys in the past commit before the spring game when they are on campus.

Yeah...I don't see anything happening as far as commits till a week or two after the Spring game.  Many people get all excited about the visitors the week of the spring game thinking some are going to commit.  That rarely happens.  They will visit, be impressed, go home and think about it and maybe commit a week or two later.

Even if that doesn't happen, there isn't need to be concerned or panic.  Most of these kids will have more visits they want to go on before committing.

Alex Conn

No reason for him not to lock up his spot.

Edit: Probably should have went with Green but I'll stick with Conn.

Honestly, I have no idea. If they can get a RB, or WR on campus soon, I think they will get a commitment. From there, it will be domino effect because I think Nebraska is only taking two RB's and one Duck- R type. If guys want in, they will have to make a move soon after.

Defensively, maybe Blaise Gunnerson, Malik Reed, or Jamar Sekona.

I believe Jamar will be a Cornhusker, but distance is the biggest wedge between committing now as opposed to a few months down the road. Some guys already know where they are going based on relationships, but they just need time to dwindle in order to feel that nudge to commit. I hope that makes sense.

Nebraska needs to get Marvin Scott on campus. If he commits to V-Tech before the season, they have to get him here for a game. He will flip.

At that point, I would focus on Marvin Scott and Sevion Morrison. Two different running styles but physically mature dudes.

Think Hutmacher pulls the trigger this weekend?

I agree with your list, unsure on Choe Bryant Strother though.

I am hoping he does, Fong keeps hinting it's close to being over so I'm thinking maybe July 1st. July 2nd Moten announces, it sounds like mom was the last hurdle so hopefully Fish and Frost did whatever they could, plus S&B kind of hinted that there might be a silent and it sounds like him. Gunnerson, the longer it drags from ISU visit the better IMO. Also, with Choe, he seems to love it here and particularly the staff. It's us against UCLA so I don't think Ruud loses this one.

Maybe there is a better thread to bring this up for discussion but here is my thinking on 2020 recruiting class:

First I assume we have about 23 available scholarships to give out come December.   At this point, we have 7 'commits' identified on this list of about 435 or so 'offers'.  That leaves us with room for about 16 more.  I rough counted about 215 or so of those 435 are, as shown in the Huskerboard listing, that are NOT presently commited to another program or to NU.

I think we need to spread those 23 scholarships, roughly, as follows:

Position     #          Current Commits         Most desirable/likely prospects still on the board in order of my preference.

WRs            2          Betts                              Ajou,  Juco Manning, Juco Watt, Nixon, Wilson

RBs             2                                                 Bivens (from 2019) as walk on, Scott, Morrison

OL               5          Conn, Corcoran            Robinson, Rosengarten, Durham

DL               3          Hutmacher                    Sekona, Broughton, Black or Lee

LB               4,          Gunnerson                    Q. Robinson (Bama commit we must steal!), Regen, Johnson, Williams, Lewis, Berrong

Lewis, Choe B, Coleman, Merrick - any combination of 4

TE               1                                                  O'Toole.   If not, then look for a walk or another CB, S or LB

CB/S           4          Lynum                            Green-Warren, Simpkins, Moten, Ritchie, Covington, Strong,

QB               1          Smother                         a couple walk ons atleast 6-2, 215 lbs can be athletes/safeties/lbs.

(LS, P, Ath)  1                                                 the best punter from Nebraska or KS or otherwise or take walk-on.

Then load up on walk ons in the areas of O line, LB, secondary, a couple tall WRs and one 'fullback' size RB or so.

I picked out the likely prospects based on recency in the offer list as being more likely than those from a number of months or more ago, plus those who seemed as decent chance of them actually coming and their apparent talent from the film, offer lists, etc. in my opinion.  I certainly could have missed a few and welcome the comments by those who are more informed than I am certainly.   Bottom line, for me, is that I think there are still quite a few fish in the pond for us to reel in and complete a top notch class in the process.   No need to panick but I think we need to add another 6 or so by the end of August and be around 18 or so by end of October.   It will likely come down to the last few weeks to get the last 3 or so.

We are competing with the best programs for the best of best (after the half dozen 'elites' have had their fill of course).
