Children and immigration reform

Morons just failed their Mayorkas impeachment vote.

Apparently one Democrat they didn’t expect to vote showed up and tipped the scales to no.

What an absolute clown show of a party. I can’t believe there are actually people who expect these idiots to be able to trip over their own dicks long enough for to do anything useful for the country.

GOP: “IT’S A CRISIS CLOSE THE BORDER!”

Dems: “Ok here’s a bill so we can close the border.”

GOP: “NO NOT LIKE THAT!”

Honestly, this is a brilliant move by Republicans. They correctly understand how stupid voters are, and they're going to lose this for their gain.

Just like when they used the Lucy pulling the football on Charlie technique on Obama when they passed a watered down version of the ACA, Senate Democrats are now flat on their back and the "on border" is now front and center during the campaign. President Biden now has to defend the "chaos at the border". You can expect the world's largest migrant caravan to make its way to Eagle Pass from the deepest, crime-ridden shadows of Central America this October.

Democrats now have to convince the American public - an electorate completely disconnected from reality - that immigration is the fault of Republicans, an issue favorable to them by 30 points.

LOL.  From reports, Democrats couldn’t even get 50 votes for that piece of trash.  But yeah, Republicans or something

This is pretty incredible. It's like looking into an encyclopedia article of the mind of a person so consumed with the party line message that they will repeat anything demanded by it. It's so completely expected and unsurprising.

Such is the nature of current right wing politics, and why appealing to them is a pointless cause.

The only people more disdainful of Trump voters than people like me are the politicians they elect, who privately express disdain for the constituency that elects them.

No matter how Republicans treat their electorate, you can rest easily knowing that they will still fully support them at the ballot box. They're is seemingly no amount of abuse that is to much for them.

Good overview. So, Biden tries new laws….Republicans need to border chaos for Trump.  I guess it’s not an emergency.

Brian isn’t giving the true story on Title 42.  He rarely gives the true story on anything.   He does this to “engage” X users.   The more engagements, the more ads within the discussion and the more revenue he earns from X.   Smart by him, but disingenuous.   Compare his version to this article

https://www.texastribune.org/2023/02/16/title-42-supreme-court/#:~:text=U.S. Supreme Court cancels arguments over Title 42%2C the pandemic,to quickly turn away migrants

Title 42 has been the subject of various lawsuits.

The American Civil Liberties Union and two Texas-based immigrant rights groups sued to end Title 42 in January 2021, arguing that the policy violated U.S. asylum laws and that the Trump administration used the pandemic as a pretext to invoke Title 42 and use it as an immigration tool.

Judge Emmet Sullivan of the U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., agreed, ruling last November that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s use of Title 42 is “arbitrary and capricious” and a violation of the law because it was not implemented properly. Sullivan ordered the Biden administration to stop the use of Title 42.

The following month, the Supreme Court told the Biden administration to keep it in place until the justices could hear arguments on the policy.

But simultaneously, a separate lawsuit seeking to force the Biden administration to keep the policy in place was making its way through the courts.

In May, U.S. District Judge Robert R. Summerhays in Louisiana blocked the Biden administration from ending Title 42. The administration appealed, and that case remains pending in the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

Speaking of party line consumption, let’s delve into the numbers a bit for this “most conservative” bill….

As you’ve been told multiple times now…Currently as written, the bill normalizes up to 1.8 million border encounters before the get tough measures come into play.  However, those get tough measures sunset after three years, AND the tough measures have a maximum number of days per year they can even actually be used no matter the daily average of encounters.

Let’s say you are some like practically every Democrat and prefer to have the current “closed and secure border” as The Big Guy and his HHS Secretary and his Press Secretary call it along with most posters in P&R.   They would say this 1.8 million encounter number is very strict and Conservatives should love this because the annual number is well over 2.5 million now (Thx Big Guy).   However…………..

Looking way way way back to decade of the 2010’s and the Obama/Trump years, the average yearly encounters were on average roughly 500,000-600,000 and that was considered to be a broken system.

So this super duper, conservative, once in a million chance, at controlling border encounters will normalize them at…………1.2 million MORE THAN THE 2010-2020 average.     Yeah Team!!!

As I’ve said before, the massive increase in border chaos during The Big Guys reign has been a feature in order to try and normalize an obscene number of border encounters so the clowns can say “see we are trying to do something.  Look look look.   Oh those rascals in the R side don’t want any security cause they won’t eat this s#!t sandwich we’ve created”.

How about your clown leaders along with the clown Langford make that encounter number to be 600,000 max and then the tough stuff happens.   How about the clowns get rid of the ridiculous notion that any legal challenge has to happen in the DC circuit.   How about no sunset provisions.   But of course you nor your party want to address any of that.    Because none of the Democrats nor the R negotiators are serious about the issue when they consider the present day situation as the standard to compare the “fix” to.

This is just flat out wrong no matter how often you repeat it.

But, you’re doing a great job of towing the party line on this.

It’s in the text of the bill.  You’re doing a great job of accepting Biden’s border failure and trying to normalize it.   Great work!

Most of the immigrants coming across are young males.  The bill says that these will not be released and it gives money to increase detention centers.  But...you keep totally ignoring that part.  It also strengthens the asylum laws so fewer people can claim asylum.

These are part of the reason why the border patrol endorses the bill...you know...the people who actually have to live by the bill.

Congrats.  Trump is happy your trying your darndest to help him.
