That's another thing I don't understand: why so many people want to see Ryker Fyfe. I mean I understand he's a Nebraska kid, but come on.

I'd consider giving Fyfe a chance. Tommy is completely rattled, and not even progressing through his routes. He needs experience, but we're still within a few scores in a important game. You have to give your team a chance to win. And Tommy is in no way doing that right now.

 

Why Fyfe? Why not Stanton, who was one of the top QB recruits in the country?

I think Armstrong is rattled and is thinking- just three and out and then I can hide on the bench. Tim Beck has not shown much in the way of game plan adjustment. Its like we have just accepted mediocrity for this season from now on out.

 

If this line can't go wide or match their quickness, why not just try to bull rush them up the middle with Cross and throw over the middle?

I think about the opposite. Tommy's a gamer who took his high school team to championships, but he's under pressure, largely due to our line that can't pass block, and he's rushing throws that he should make because of nerves. Beck has tried a bunch of stuff, but MSU isn't stupid and they're ready for it.

 

I'd like to see some all out sweeps.

Some of the comments I'm seeing in here straight up disgust me.

Same mentality that resulted in threats to Cosgrove and his family. The game is just not that important and alcohol can't warrant some these remarks. I'm not disgusted by the team but some of you.....different story.

I think the field goal is something akin to a loss. We need points in a game where we have not done well. A big gamble would have been to go for a TD. If we make it, we get some momentum going. If we don't, we lose like we are now.
