ColoradoHusk
what is most interesting to me at this point, is anyone from Bo's staff going to go with him to Yougstown? Maybe its the lower salaries but nobody seems to be chomping at the bit to follow him this time. Nothing wrong with assistant coaches wanting to expand the head coaches that they have experience with. It's all about building a network of people that you have worked with. Quote Link to comment
gobiggergoredder
I'm glad the dude gets a clean break and isn't going to YSU. Thanks to him and best of luck. Quote Link to comment

Ric Flair
Not his fault he was promoted to a position he wasn't ready for. I wish him well. Quote Link to comment
skersfan
I am glad he got the job, did not think he would get hired this year. I hope he actually gets the chance to learn and develop. He seems like a great guy and truly interested in the game. Good luck to him and all the others looking for a job. Quote Link to comment
Saunders
He'll be under Gene Chizik, so he should do OK if NC doesn't get nuked for their academic issues. Quote Link to comment
Whistlebritches
I can't imagine too many people were beating down the door to coach at a school that's going to get some pretty stiff sanctions. That said, it's a good spot for him. It's the level of coaching he should have been doing while at NU. Quote Link to comment
Count 'Bility
Papuchis spent more time as a position coach at Nebraska than a coordinator. Just thought id throw that in here as i read some comments that seem to insinuate otherwise. Quote Link to comment

That said, it's a good spot for him. It's the level of coaching he should have been doing while at NU. I'd beat down multiple doors for 200k a year. At the end of the day he landed a D1, power 5 job...that is way better job than the majority of coaching jobs out there. You can bet there were plenty of candidates for that job. VectorVictor
Two years ago, we made the trip from TN to Lincoln for a game. We arrived Friday evening and walked around the stadium getting pictures with the statues, etc. Then, we saw JP walking across the street. He was talking on the phone; so I told my 2 daughters to turn around and smile, and I would take a pic as he walked behind them. JP saw what I was doing, put the person on the phone on hold, came over and posed for a picture, told us GBR, and then continued walking. Definitely struck me as a decent man. I wish him well. He is a young coach and could really grow under a different leader. Good story, thanks for sharing. Always thought that JP was in over his head, but at least his heart was in the right place.
