nebraskaart
"148.96: Armstrong’s quarterback rating in the fourth quarters this season, which ranks second in the Big Ten — behind Beathard — among regular league quarterbacks. Armstrong has thrown six touchdowns in the fourth quarter — zero interceptions — and run for four touchdowns in that quarter, as well. You might say that’s when the man shines." He is ranked #12 in the NCAA for 4th quarter quarterbacks. http://www.omaha.com/huskers/mckewon-husker-defense-still-scrambling-despite-upset-of-spartans/article_54b389ec-6323-55eb-b333-68d797a3bf4e.html Nebraska ranks #1 in the NCAA in team scoring in the 4th quarter with 12.8. They have averaged 19.0 the last three games, and 17.2 on the road. https://www.teamrankings.com/college-football/stat/4th-quarter-points-per-game 4 Quote Link to comment

RedSavage
Now if only we could figure out the other 3 quarters are equally as important 2 Quote Link to comment
Guy Chamberlin
We just need the ball last! Yeah. It's scary when you go ahead with :17 left in the game, and worry that it's STILL to much time for the opposing quarterback. 7 Quote Link to comment

Guy Chamberlin
Actually we played MSU straight up for 3 quarters, lost the advantage with the INT in the red zone, which forced the need for two scores late, but the play in general was consistent. Nice to see the penalties completely disappear in the second half. Our offense can score at any time. Our defense can be scored upon at any time. That's a recipe for excitement! Quote Link to comment

This is so wrong but so right.. ...and still one of the big problems is special teams; both decisions and execution. Going for two early in the fourth quarter? Had they not done that, they would not have had to go for two at the end of the game to try to make it a three point game. and then, as both of you alluded to above, it was still scary with :17 left. Why not kick it into the end zone and make them go at least 50 yards in 17 seconds to get in field goal range? That squib kick put MSU one big pass play (25 - 30 yards) from field goal range. HuskerMerc44
quarters 1-3: I'd enjoy those quarters a lot more if the women come with it. Quote Link to comment

On the bright side, I think we got to find out EXACTLY how much time is safe. Not 1 more second!!! 17 is the key boys Quote Link to comment
NUance
I knew we had good 4th quarter stats. I didn't know they were that good. So why can't we get that mojo going earlier??! Quote Link to comment
