TGHusker
SEC - so surprised We'll see what kind of slap on the wrist they receive. Quote Link to comment
I AM FOOT FOOT
Wasn't there some dude saying he was going to take Ol Miss down for violations?? linky anyone?? Quote Link to comment
BigRedBuster
Have to say...I am actually surprised the NCAA is doing this. Of course, they are doing it to an SEC school that hasn't won anything significant in 52 years. Alabama, Auburn and LSU are untouchable. Quote Link to comment

RunMickeyRun02
It took this long? They'll get a wrist slap fine and a scholarship reduction for a year and a stern talking to. The thing that bothers me about these kinds of things is that by the time the NCAA gets around to punishing these places it's YEARS later. And the kids/coaches on the current team most of the time weren't even around when violations took place. Nobody likes USC but it was an enormous gap between Bush, the championships and when the schollys started to get pulled. In the mean time any kid with half a brain avoids the school in CASE punishments come down. I think fines are a better way to police this, but even then these schools make so much money it's a risk worth taking and could be viewed as just the cost of doing business. Ummmmm....I'll guarantee you there are players on their team currently that were involved. I'm sorry, what I meant is that by the time sanctions come down, a couple years from now at the NCAA's normal speed (if ever) like the botched miami investigation the kids on the team won't be any of those involved. And if it's like USC the kids who will suffer the sanctions are still in grade school. Quote Link to comment

The players don't care because, in their mind, they will be off to the NFL before anything comes out. The boosters are so full of themselves that they don't think they will ever get caught. I believe the reason why Nebraska has never been caught in something like this is because as fans, we demand we aren't. No, I'm not naive enough to think a player has never gotten something he shouldn't have at Nebraska. But, it's not as rampant and blatant here as a place like Ol Miss because we as fans put pressure on the program to not be like that. Hell...there are Ol Miss fans that are proud of it. 1 Quote Link to comment

Sometimes I wonder if that's why are Basketball team can't quite get over the hump. We're not cheating or not as good as other places. That's why we're good at stuff most people aren't into like Girls BB, Volleyball etc. not enough return on investment to fork dough under the table. Prolly the most inflammatory thing I've said on this board. *ducks for cover waits for incoming fire* Quote Link to comment
