Frostberg
Penn State plans to honor late head coach Joe Paterno prior to a game against Temple University in two weeks. According to the team’s promotional schedule, it will commemorate the 50th anniversary of Paterno’s first game coaching the Nittany Lions. Paterno has never been officially honored at the university’s Beaver Stadium since he was fired in 2011 amid the sexual-abuse scandal involving assistant coach Jerry Sandusky. 84HuskerLaw
Disgusting. It is painfully obvious to all with reasoning capacity that Paterno and many others were at least passive participants in the cover up if not the crimes directly. Sandusky was a predator in plain view for decades of small boys in and around the athletic facilities and even traveling with the team to away games, etc. Anybody who saw the guy 'hanging with little boys' not his own and sleeping in motel rooms on road trips with them could not avoid being aware. To honor someone who either aided and abetted or deliberately allowed it to continue for years and years is just awful. Thumbs down. I am not sure we should 'honor' Penn State by playing them in the future if they are going to continue to honor a child molester or someone who tolerates it. To be even more frank, in my view, someone who allows such disgusting criminal conduct to go on in his program is just as guilty as the perp himself. 5 Quote Link to comment

Count 'Bility
I feel for James Franklin. Im sure when he took the job, the assumed, or was convinced, that Penn St was beyond this bullsh#t THIS IS WHY THE NCAA DIDNT OVERSTEP THEIR BOUNDRIES. And in fact, appears to have not done enough. There is a glaring cultural issue there that is pushed along by the football program. Punish the program and the culture, let the players and coaches leave freely, and give this place the damn death penatly already. Cuz this whole deal? All it's doing is smearing the NCAA and the rest of the country's faces in sh#t. 1 Quote Link to comment
84HuskerLaw
Penn State should be prohibited by the Big Ten from participating in any sports for a period of 10 years and unless the PSU admits its absolute guilt and shame in this entire affair, they should be banished from the Big Ten membership as well. There are plenty of other 'good' schools that would honorably represent the Conference and NCAA athletics in general much better. Honoring a child molester (we all know these creeps 'hunt in packs') is hideous. 1 Quote Link to comment

"we all know these creeps "hunt in packs", what does that even mean? sounds like a medieval witch hunt quote. No we all dont know that, in fact thats a false statement as most pedos seem to act alone, it is pretty damn shameful after all. Paterno reported what happened and could have done more, really it was schools responsibility once he reported it. But let's not go full drama queen with nonsensical hyperbole. 1 Quote Link to comment

Paterno not doing more is an understatement. And those defending him like he did his part to solve the situation, are as discusting as he was. No drama gueen, just fact. Quote Link to comment
