Moiraine
It’s like having a toddler in charge. He doesn’t understand trade deficits. If we buy a bunch of metal from country A and then turn it into rockets and bombs and technology and don’t sell anything back to country A, it doesn’t mean they’re getting the better of us. We could have an overall trade deficit with the world and still have everything we need to thrive. Link to comment
Moiraine
I think I know the real reason Trump is irked about Twitter followers being deleted. He has 60 million. Obama has 106 million. 1 Link to comment

"Thank you for your time and showing that anger is not part of American political discourse. Now Mr. Shapiro will say goodbye." This Andrew Neil guy was a vocal advocate of Britain going to war with Afghanistan and Iraq, doesn't think man-made climate change is real and was editor of a newspaper in the 90s that called HIV a "politically correct virus" and tried to claim AIDS could not spread to heterosexuals. THAT'S the guy Ben Shapiro accused of being a leftist because he asked him hard questions. Interesting to see Shapiro when he's not debating unprepared high school or college students, huh? This is the real Ben Shapiro. 3 Link to comment
Moiraine
Shapiro is great at offering up easy to shoot down arguments so he can look smart to less discerning listeners/viewers. Link to comment

"Thank you for showing that anger is not part of American political discourse". Funny how a conservative media personality goes into complete meltdown in the face of hard questions. No answers? Better just start shouting and end the interview! Link to comment

Ratt Mhule
With us on the brink of another pointless war with Iran, I wonder when the conservatives, CNN, FOX and other MSM outlets will ask the question, "how will you pay for this?" 2 Link to comment
knapplc
In Oregon, the Democrats don't just have a majority, they have a veto-proof supermajority. I'm not too concerned about planting. With the equipment farmers have now, a few days of good weather and they get caught up. I know guys that were concerned about corn over the weekend.....and now they are done. Now....the trade war is another major issue. Something the idiot and chief doesn't understand is that once the crop inventories get backed up, it will take a very long time to get them back down to a level that will create a good price for the next crop. Good thing China is paying so much in tariffs that they will cover the cost of paying farmers. Link to comment
Danny Bateman
I know it's hard to believe, but it increasingly looks like Rudy Giuliani wasn't being entirely honest with his broadside against Joe Biden vis a vis Ukraine. Quote A Ukrainian lawmaker accused his country’s top prosecutor of manufacturing a “conspiracy” about U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, adding to a political intrigue playing out from Kiev to Washington. The lawmaker, Serhiy Leshchenko, said he had been given parts of a letter written by the prosecutor with the intent of currying favor with the Trump administration. The letter was sent by the prosecutor through unofficial channels to President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani, the lawmaker told journalists on Monday in Kiev as he distributed copies of two pages. The letter, purportedly written by Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko, said that Biden, while U.S. vice president, personally received income from a Ukrainian natural gas company in exchange for “lobbying activities and political support.” The lawmaker said those allegations were false. As Leshchenko explained it, the prosecutor was trying to hold onto his job in a new administration. The incoming Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, campaigned on a vow to fight corruption and has said he would name a new prosecutor general. The GOP right now is more corrupt than many of us could imagine. Trump himself has a corrupting effect on anything he touches. It's sad to see Giuliani's fall from grace to become another pathetic power-hungry lackey. But parts of the GOP are ultimately redeemable: Quote Leshchenko, a former investigative journalist, was a supporter of Zelenskiy and has taken part in some election and transition meetings. He didn’t say when the letter to Giuliani was sent. He said he had received the excerpts through people allied with U.S. conservatives. Sweet irony. 1 1 Link to comment
