@Moiraine  did you just give me that Trophy regarding the Buttigieg post above?   I know you are a big fan (of him :wub:and not me)  I think if I had to vote for a more progressive person, I like him more than the Senator's club candidates.

No. And I wouldn’t say I’m a big fan. I refuse to look into presidential candidates this early. I really liked him in the one interview I watched, though.

Yahoo finance 'experts' did a review of Dem candidates positions on 4 major issues and then ranked them on the  socialism-captialism spectrum

Results are interesting

Here’s where each of the 15 candidates stands:

There are several useful takeaways for voters. It’s no accident that the two declared candidates with gubernatorial experience—Hickenlooper and Inslee—are at the capitalistic end of the field, since governors have to work with businesses to develop pragmatic tax and regulatory policies that generate jobs. Joining them at the capitalist frontier is Delaney, who made millions starting and running two successful businesses, and only ran for office after that.

Sen. Bernie Sanders, not surprisingly, is the most socialistic candidate among Democrats, with a well-developed plan to sharply raise taxes, nationalize health care, cover college costs for many families and roll out other generous government benefits. Sanders has also signed on to the Green New Deal, which would border on a government takeover of the energy sector and force radical change in transportation, as well.

Here’s how Yahoo Finance constructed the socialism-capitalism spectrum we used to identify the economic orientation of 15 prominent Democratic presidential candidates.

First, we analyzed each candidate’s views on 4 key economic issues: Trade, climate policy, taxes and health care. For each of those topics, we established three categories: One that was more socialistic, one that was more capitalistic, and one that was in between.

We consider socialistic policies to be those that rely heavily on government intervention or programs controlled by the government. We consider capitalistic policies to be those that rely primarily on private-sector solutions and incentives. An in-between stance is typically one that includes a little of both.

We realize the terms “socialism” and “capitalism” are open to interpretation. In an American context, we’re applying limits to these terms, consistent with the range of policies politically plausible in the United States. We’re not suggesting any of these candidates are promoting Venezuelan-style authoritarian socialism, at one extreme, or unbridled Ayn Randian capitalism at the other extreme. The range of choices is more narrow and depends largely on the role of government.

The GND isn't even a bill, so how will it be govt. takeover of the energy sector and transportation?  Its basically a vision for where we want to be in 10 years.  Its not a law at all.

But while we are all fighting about if climate change is even a thing, China is already coming up with news ways to limit air travel and lower CO2 emission.

The Bold - a "Back to the Future" move for sure.  Hey it makes sense in many applications.

It's a sad commentary on America that so many people are so eager to listen to Trump lie to them for a couple of hours as long as the lie tells them something they hope is true.

Trump is selling this vision of America that he has no plans of delivering on, and even if he wanted to, he's not the kind of bridge-builder that we'd need to get that stuff done.

The American he's selling is hugely divisive. It's Whites in a privileged class, everyone else relegated to second-tier status, and everyone happy in their place.

What's sad is, that's not the America the Founding Fathers dreamed of, that's not the America we're taught to believe in at school, and it's not, generally speaking, a good place to live. Certainly not for those in second-tier status, but there's a moral poverty in the whole system Trump is selling. There's no happiness there.

America needs to wake up from this dream. America needs to realize its greatness comes from diversity.

It really doesn't matter what the never Trumpers, the Democrats or their biased fact checkers say, because they are not reputable now since there was no Russian Collusion or Obstruction of Justice.  They all said it was so, and they were and still are wrong!  To say he isn't doing something and in fact it is already done is like :bang.  I know it hurts!

1. We haven't seen Mueller's report, so claims of exoneration are premature.

2. Even if Mueller's report did exonerate Trump (it didn't, and said so), that doesn't mean Trump isn't a bad guy. He is. We have ample evidence of that, from his own mouth.

3. Even if Mueller's investigation doesn't result in legal trouble for Trump, there are in excess of a dozen other investigations involving Trump or his associates which may have legal ramifications for Trump, ongoing right now.

Your continued support of a bad man is noteworthy, not praiseworthy.

Keeping that hope alive are you!  Well good luck with that! Trump is the most vetted POTUS in history, and yet nothing has been found in 3 years.
