and the GOP will own the massive debt they are ballooning?

As Moraine would say, they are continuing the record trend that was started under Obama. :)  But in all seriousness, the tax cuts have brought in record revenue for the federal government, but they have not cut back on spending, and if we continue to provide entitlements we cannot afford, the debt will continue to balloon.  Entitlement reform is needed, and both parties should support that.

Looks like the Dems hoax to take down Kavanaugh backfired on their Senate chances.  All red-state Dems that voted against Kavanaugh lost, and Manchin barely held on and he was the only one to vote for Kavanaugh.  With women now admitting they made up accusations, this was a major mess up for their Senate chances.

Or red America really just likes Trump (and his allies) and the rest of us don't? It's just a cultural thing.

One thing I was reminded of tonight is cultural issues run deep. Republicans in a lot of red states really identify with Trump and those aligned with him.

Not much liberals can really do about that other than trying to win hearts and change minds and wait until people who think that way culturally are a smaller slice of the electorate. And the Trump shine wears off.

There is always a catch to Trump. He says he will do this if he gets this in return. That is what he did with DACA. You will get DACA if I get the wall. If not then no DACA program.

I absolutely would be okay with getting criminals out of government. If Obama was under investigation. Or Bush id be okay with it also.

Isn't the bolded what being POTUS is all about.  Working across the aisle, giving a little to get a little.  You act as though that is a bad thing.  I would expect a super majority of Americans want their POTUS to make deals to move things forward.

I agree that cultural issues run deep and they have for 2 decades.  This is not a new thing.  Libs in blue states identify with socialism and far-left ideas and with Bernie and some new Dems pushing more socialism, it's pushing the Democratic party super far left.  Both sides are trying to win hearts and change minds, but that is not easy to do.  I am not going to convince you that tax cuts are better for the economy than raising government spending, or that there should not be a right to kill the unborn especially in late-term scenarios.

Give and take is one thing, but the wall is so massively dumb and a huge waste of money that it was never going to be agreed upon.

Well I don't support late-term abortions. I don't personally want ANY abortions. I just think it's a constitutional right that each woman should make for herself.

I don't support full-blown socialism or far-left ideas. I just want to try something different on healthcare and don't think the vulnerable should be made to suffer at the hands of the government. Is that so absurd?

the libs are socialists....and thus the cons must be nazis......right?   if you want to label all dems as socialists i would have to say that its fair for dems to label all republicans as nazis.

That is your opinion. Granting citizenship to those who didn't follow the rules is dumb to me, just as Obamacare was dumb to me as it didn't address the core of rising health care costs.  Our current immigration laws are dumb and outdated.  If the Dems believe so strongly in granting citizenship to DACA illegals, they have to give a little.  Moreover, the amount of money spent on illegals entering our country is more than the cost of building the wall.

Umm...there are many leading voices on the Left calling themselves socialists and openly promoting that term.  I am not aware of any elected Republicans calling themselves Nazis. Big difference that refutes what you are inferring.

you and so many on the "right" use the socialist term to label all dems and the term "libs" is spit out with worse venom than Khan raging at captain kirk.    sorry for the star trek reference.  lol.

and we can go back to charlettesville to say the same thing about many on the right identifying as nazis.

The rules are dumb, but we must uphold them at all costs!

Wrong again....some on the left and media wanted to label Republicans as Nazis or whatever derogatory term of their choice, but I do not know of any elected national Republicans choosing to call themselves Nazis.  Meanwhile, Bernie, Cortez and other Dems getting lots of air-time on networks are identifying as Socialists and pushing that agenda.  It doesn't mean all Dems are socialists but there are real elected members of the Left who do identify with socialism.
