It would be the two that each won over 70% of their games. 1 Quote Link to comment

No doubt. But he wasn't hiring a family counselor. He was hiring a football coach, and he hired a good one. It's not easy to evaluate a person's character in an interview. In hindsight, it didn't work out so well. Especially after TO left. If he'd been replaced by someone besides the Ginger Assassin, things may have been very different. 1 Quote Link to comment

It goes a little deeper than this. TO was somewhat instrumental in us getting Steve Pederson as AD. How many 70%+ winning coaches was Pederson involved in getting us? 1 Quote Link to comment

Look at all the D1 programs lining up to hire your "good coach." And Pelini is working with Jim Tressel, another legend, yet Pelini's antics remain the same, his questionable decisions remain the same, and his results remain the same. 5 Quote Link to comment
Undone
@Isle of View - Sorry - I had meant to quote 'fire mike' and I quoted you by accident. There was a poster named 'cm husker' that was in instant thread-destroyer here a little while back. Quote Link to comment

TO hired a good football coach who turned out to be a jackass when he had to work for another authoritarian jackass. Now people know what kind of a jackass he is, but once Pelini is off the NUAD dole, he'll be back on the market and someone will be willing to ignore the jackassery in return for the winning. I don't hold Osborne responsible for Pelini's personal failings. That's all on Pelini (and a little on Harvey and Sean). 2 Quote Link to comment
