Toe
@BigRedBuster You really didn't read the title of the article did you. The author didn't merely say that "the offensive scheme helps them succeed." Right in the title, he said that the scheme matters MORE than the linemen as the reason for their blocking success. Which is not true. As his own stats show, even after adjusting for schematic advantage, their linemen have still performed the best in the league. At best, that's a clickbait headline. And I agree with the title. 1 1 Quote Link to comment
OTHusker
I agree Fundamentals, Weight Room and Effort are KING Title was misleading The scheme, Frosts scheme and play calling definitely helps though Third and Long runs Throws on first down Third and short- not throwing every time RUPO threat on almost every play or at least the appearance thereof Fast Tempo False pulls etc etc etc Having more than 2-3 running plays All things Langsdorf never ever figured out Quote Link to comment

Yes, but people are kidding themselves if they don’t think the coaches have certain people penciled in as starters. 2AM is penciled in as the starter. Now, something major would have to happen to unseat him. The coaches will watch, and if that happens, they will make a change.....but don’t kid yourself into thinking the coaches aren’t going into spring and fall thinking he’s the starter. But some positions the players are competing and separating themselves in the weight room, film room, etc etc. center has been a position that we’ve all been guessing about since the beginning of last season until Farmer moved over. Now it’s open again and Frost is making a public challenge to the group for someone to seize it. Quote Link to comment
SouthLincoln Husker
Heard an interview with Sirles, as he is back working out at NU during the off season. He stated that Barry is a beast and that he was also impressed with the size & strength of our lineman. Quote Link to comment
BigRedBuster
Maybe Miles could use some football players. 1 Quote Link to comment
Mavric
FWIW, for all the grief our OL has taken over the last 15 years, we have 11 in this time frame..... Quote Link to comment
SouthLincoln Husker
We have had some good lineman here, but there has been lack of a strength program & coaching development. 1 Quote Link to comment

I think this is a good example of why the draft isn't always the end all, be all. We've had some solid individual talent come through but, collectively, the unit has had its inconsistencies and struggles. Naturally, we still want to see players getting drafted. There's no reason a place that recruits as well as Nebraska should be sitting around in February wondering about whether or not they'll see a player go in the first three rounds if at all. 2 Quote Link to comment
