Saunders
Quote CollegeFootballNews: 5 Things You Need To Know About Purdue, Season Prediction To dive into the ugly and lazy cliché, Purdue is going to be that team that can beat anyone, or lose to anyone. Sorry about that. To be more analytical about it, the offense is going to have those days – like it did against Ohio State last season – when everything goes right, and forget about it. The receiving corps has the talent and upside to go off – and it’ll have to with an inconsistent running game that’s going to fall flat way too often. The defense will generate more of a pass rush, it’ll be more athletic and talented up front, and will have a few good performances. But once again, the pass D will get ripped apart from time to time, and overall, it’ll have to get used to surviving in shootouts. https://collegefootballnews.com/2019/04/purdue-football-preview-prediction-players-2019 Quote Athlon: #41 Purdue Boilermakers Preview And Prediction Purdue made a major statement on a national stage last year with a stunning 49–20 upset over No. 2 Ohio State. It was one of three wins over ranked opponents. But perhaps the biggest statement came in the offseason. When Louisville tried to poach Purdue coach Jeff Brohm and halt the positive momentum the Boilers had created over the coach’s first two seasons, the school opened its wallet, inking Brohm to a new seven-year deal worth $36.8 million. "At this point in time, we are so convinced that we have the right head coach and he has assembled the right people around him, we felt it was important, to the best of our ability, to maintain that continuity [of] leadership in our program," athletic director Mike Bobinski says. https://athlonsports.com/college-football/purdue-football-boilermakers-prediction-preview-2019 More to come... 1 Quote Link to comment
Undone
It helps our chances that David Blough graduated. Guy was really good. I assume that they'll most likely start fifth year QB Elijah Sindelar. In 2017 he threw for 56.8%, 18 touchdowns, 7 interceptions. This will start to sound like a broken record as we approach the season, but one of the big keys to beating Purdue is going to be rushing the passer much better than we did when we played them last year. 1 Quote Link to comment

No argument there. Finish drives and we win the game, though. Almost 600 yards of offense, rush for over 250 and lose in a pretty lopsided score. That shouldn’t happen. But if you’re 4 of 15 on 3rd and 4th down, it happens. Extremely frustrating game because it feels like we lost it more than they won it. So many unnecessary mistakes in that game. 1 Quote Link to comment

deedsker
Purdue was in a similar spot as Nebraska, up by 14 on defense with half the fourth quarter to go because of sloppy mistakes keeping the opponent around. Nebraska found a way to get the defense to step up and Purdue got soft through the final 7 minutes. Sad way to lose, but they will still be a dangerous team. Quote Link to comment

cheekygeek
Through 3 games this season, Purdue is averaging only 50 yds per game rushing but 371 passing (leading to a 1-2 record as they face Minnesota today). Quote Link to comment
