Yep and People who are not Biden supporters in general should be willing and able to give Biden administration credit for building on that initial success and getting us to where we are.  Herd immunity through vaccine was projected back in December by Azar to be reached sometime between Easter and beginning of summer.  Looks like we might be able to hit that mark.

herd immunity depends on enough people getting the vaccine.   there is a large % of the right wing that says they won't take the vaccine.   i hope we have enough to get to herd immunity but there is a chance we won't.

Go ahead and tell us what you think the Trump administration did. Act like a bunch of profit driven companies only made vaccines because of him? All while actively undermining anything that would mitigate the pandemic? We all know Trump famously went on TV to get the vaccine to help convince his cult that it's both safe and a responsible thing to do.

I'm just stating facts. We can discuss how stupid Trump's approach in general was; but in reality neither Trump nor Biden should be taking as much credit as they or the media give them.

We should be praising the amazing people at agencies like the CDC and FDA, and the scientists at these companies who did an incredible job in an unprecedented amount of time.

I can't believe the lack of foresight here.  Just hold off a few more months and this thing might be under control.  But it could easily go the other way.

Florida has been open for quite some time and is in the bottom half of deaths per million by state while having the second oldest population in the US.  Statistically speaking, FL should be near the top of deaths per 100,000 because of who the virus targets for severe symptoms.
Texas seems to be doing well so far post Neanderthal thinking opening and is currently right at average for deaths per 100,000 by state.

States in the Northeast have been expanding their reopening but those states didn’t seem to get Dr. Gupta’s attention.  Could be that he has a political narrative to make.

So you've got variants spreading in the US which are more contagious, possibly more deadly, possibly more deadly to young people, and which may render our current vaccines less effective.  We're also breaking even or falling behind in the race between variants vs. vaccines and @Archy1221 thinks it's a good idea for Governors to sans something as simple as a mask mandate this close to possible herd immunity.  Oh wait, Republicans are more likely than others to not get the vaccine making herd immunity a pipedream.

Got it.

Isn't this the same thinking that even Trump's inner circle of experts are coming out and saying caused 100s of thousands of unnecessary deaths?

https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/70/wr/mm7010e3.htm#:~:text=Mask mandates were associated with statistically significant decreases in county,41–80 days after reopening.

"Mask mandates were associated with statistically significant decreases in county-level daily COVID-19 case and death growth rates within 20 days of implementation. Allowing on-premises restaurant dining was associated with increases in county-level case and death growth rates within 41–80 days after reopening.

Several factors might explain this observation. Even though prohibition of on-premises restaurant dining was lifted, restaurants were not required to open and might have delayed reopening. In addition, potential restaurant patrons might have been more cautious when restaurants initially reopened for on-premises dining but might have been more likely to dine at restaurants as time passed."

Might be a little early for a victory dance.

Michigan has some of the highest rates in the country right now, but guess where people having been going on vacation for all of March. Florida.

There is no victory dance.  Just stating what the facts are up to this point.

If you would like to dispute the numbers then throw your source on the board when you whine about the DailyMail numbers.
