Interesting interview with James Carville.  He say the press should not be treating Trump like a normal candidate.  They should be pointing out his convictions (rape trial) and not ignore the obvious - he's unfit for office.    Media loves the fact that he 'sells papers' but this is a time where truth must be spoken clearly and trump's true image is portrayed in the media - just to counteract the trump mis-information propaganda machine that is churning out endless lies.

I don’t know…

You are right though….it seems that whenever people advocate for as much immigration as possible and not worrying about how they get in, it’s always in the context of doing “the jobs no one else wants to do”.  Why do unfettered immigration advocates only say they want them for “those jobs”.

If the GOP doesn't care about the democratic vote process within their own party, how much less will they care about the vote in the general election this term and beyond.   They will find a way to say it is rigged and create another J6 revolt.

The Republican National Committee (RNC) is reviewing a draft resolution that, if approved, would declare Donald Trump the party’s presumptive 2024 presidential nominee even as Nikki Haley continues to wage a vigorous campaign against the former president and frontrunner.

The draft resolution, obtained by The Dispatch Thursday morning, was proposed by David Bossie, an RNC committeeman from Maryland and close Trump ally. His effort to put the national party on a general election footing behind Trump follows RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel saying after the former president defeated Haley in Tuesday’s New Hampshire primary that it was time for Republicans to unite behind the frontrunner and focus on defeating President Joe Biden.

“RESOLVED that the Republican National Committee hereby declares President Trump as our presumptive 2024 nominee for the office of President of the United States and from this moment forward moves into full general election mode welcoming supporters of all candidates as valued members of Team Trump 2024,” reads a key portion of the draft resolution.

Under current RNC rules, Trump still has to win the requisite number of nominating convention delegates—1,215—to become the party’s unchallenged presumptive nominee. After the Iowa caucuses and the New Hampshire primary, Trump leads Haley in the race for delegates 32 to 17.

But passage of this resolution, possibly next week at the RNC winter meeting in Las Vegas, could begin a preemptive process of the national party working with the former president as if he had already done so. And under RNC rules, that is permissible. This resolution, even in draft form, also functions as another sign that the GOP establishment is anxious to coalesce behind Trump and put an end to a presidential primary that, after his victories in Iowa and New Hampshire, the former president looks poised to win.

See the draft resolution here.

The RNC declined to comment for this story, and the Trump campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

“Who cares what the RNC says?” Haley campaign spokeswoman Olivia Perez-Cubas said after this report was published. “We’ll let millions of Republican voters across the country decide who should be our party’s nominee, not a bunch of Washington insiders. If Ronna McDaniel wants to be helpful she can organize a debate in South Carolina, unless she’s also worried that Trump can’t handle being on the stage for 90 minutes with Nikki Haley.”

Kind of surprising, I thought Dave had basically kicked Trump to the curb and liked Joe now.

So I looked at the comments on that tweet, a lot of "Michelle Obama will end up running as President" Where is this coming from, has she EVER mentioned wanting to run for office?

I see that pop up here and there and I don't get it.

It is the old "Americans are lazy and don't want to work" bit.

Wouldn’t those companies be breaking the law by hiring illegal aliens regardless of how much they paid them.

I guess, how can you hire someone if they don’t have a social security number?

Is there something else you can use instead of that?

Employers have to do an I-9 Employment Eligibilty Verification Form by Dept of Homeland Security when hiring. A social security card/number is not required to satisfy it. But it would be extremely hard/rare that a person could produce the needed alternate documents without being legally eligible to work in this country. However I do think falsified documents are fairly easy to get. Certain industries, like meat packing for one, seem to get lots of fake docs.

We used to voluntarily participate in the E-Verify program but like most government things it was a s#!tshow so I quit doing it.

FYI, I am 99.999% certain we have never hired an illegal alien.

Here’s the thing.   If Schumer would take up the bill and add in/subtract what the Senate wants, a negotiation is then started between the two houses of Congress.   Issues like immigration caps, combined with funding for processing and security are discussed.  But hardliners like Schumer won’t allow the process to happen.

“Here’s a s#!t sandwich. You can eat it or go hungry.

If you put a little mustard and some mayo in there, it’ll taste better.

I don’t understand why I haven’t gotten anybody who doesn’t love s#!t sandwiches to eat this thing!”
