What is the future of the Republican Party?

So while it appears even more clear that Trump is not going away, that his cult of personality actually IS the agenda, and that anyone who prefers the GOP that Archy 1221 pines for is suspect, the real trouble-maker is Liz Cheney. Even if she was right, Liz needed to shut up and move on.

Gaslighting at its finest!

When was the last time McCarthy talked about the 2020 election being in dispute?

Explicitly? I’m not sure.  Probably not since just before Inauguration Day.

But when siding with the folks who claim it is/was by ousting Cheney, he was essentially saying the GOP will humor the crazy folks who believe it was in dispute to move forward rather than siding with the truth.

Actions speak louder than words.

And I would agree here.  The rest of GOP moved on except for Cheney to focus on governing and agenda items.  Cheney didn’t therefor she is out.

Keep in mind, she voted for impeachment and still was kept into leadership afterwords.  If she would have moved on to messaging GOP governing priorities for 2022 she would still be in leadership

This quote is from the article you posted, and it’s an example IMO of how s#!tty WAPO narrates the news to make Republicans look or sound bad.  I already know your views on the subject, so tell me if you think this is reporting the story or narrative the story to make the subject look bad.

McCloskey also slammed President Biden over “socialist” policies that provided coronavirus aid to people who lost their jobs or encountered financial hardship during the pandemic. He echoed a popular conservative argument that increased unemployment payments have prevented people from returning back to work, a claim that Democrats and some studies have disputed.”

The messaging that Jan 6 wasn’t a big deal?

The message that Donald Trump should have the support of the GOP because of his base?

You mean that messaging????

Okie dokie then...

Is calling out the increased unemployment causing people to not go back to work a bad thing as the paper suggests?  Is that what he called a “socialist policy” or was he referring to other policies and the paper lumped increased unemployment along with it?

McCloskey is the one who criticized the additional benefits and called them socialist.  At least that's the way I take it.  If he said it, isn't it OK for the paper to comment on it and the discrepancy between what Republicans and Democrats are saying about it?

Is increased unemployment causing people to stay hime instead of taking jobs?
