The closest similarity (accomplishment/feat) was a Pitcher named Mike Scott (Houston) who threw a no hitter into the 7th inning, after throwing a no-hitter. Except Mike Scott was known to grease the ball and cut it (per teammates on his team and teammates from his other teams). Nolan was an incredible, powerful, intimidating, workhorse, and threw hard fastballs (reaching 98-100) and hard curves (low 90s). How he pitched the same way until he was around 47 is mind blowing. admo
ATL Ron Acuna (amazing player) is hitting .333 and on pace to hit 30 homers and steal 60 bases. The pitch clock and 2 limit throws from pitcher to base runners is changing the game to add more excitement in my opinion. Advantage base runners. Some interesting stats of the past (power PLUS 50+SB) Eric Davis (Cinc Reds 1986) 132 games 28HR 80SB Eric Davis (Cinc Reds 1987) 129 games 37HR 50SB 100RBI Rickey Henderson (NYY 1985) 24HR 80SB Rickey Henderson (NYY 1986) 28HR 87SB Rickey Henderson (Oak A's 1990) 28HR 65SB Barry Bonds (Pitt 1990) 33HR 52SB 114RBI If Acuna does get 30/60 that would be so historically cool Quote Link to comment

Also in 1938 one of the top musical singles was "A Tisket, A-Tasket" by Ella Fitzgerald. And the best selling car was Buick Century, Series 61 and sold for $1250. There was also 16 MLB teams in 1938. Pretty nice feat, no wonder nobody ever matched it. Even though Nolan Ryan came pretty close in the modern era. Quote Link to comment
AZRaiderH8r
We are going to the Rockies Angels game on Sunday. Doesn't appear that Shohei will be pitching, but we're very excited to see him play, especially at Coors Field. 1 1 Quote Link to comment

Although rumor has it that every fan left with an Angels homerun ball 2 Quote Link to comment

I missed the last time he was in town against the White Sox and I really wish I would have went. Really want to see him play also. Enjoy! 1 Quote Link to comment
