I tend to agree with you, Tom, but lo country has already been elected. Typically if someone was caught campaigning outside the designated thread, we'd make them wear the avatar until they got elected. Maybe make Crewe wear it for a week?

For the next several weeks we'll be nominating and voting for positions on the HuskerBoard Starting Lineup, your chance to tell folks how much fun you've had talking football with them over the last year. Maybe it's someone whose opinions most closely match your own, maybe it's someone whose point of view couldn't be further from yours - but whatever the reason, same opinion or different, they're someone whose input you look forward to every time you come to the board.

 

A brief "how it works" for those new to this thing: Each Monday we'll open nominations for several positions. You nominate OR second (one or the other, per position) someone for a spot on the team. Once the nomination period is closed the voting starts, and at the end of the week the top vote-getter(s) get their position. Nominations close on Wednesday, and Thursday every week voting begins.

 

The basic ground-rules:

• Each person may nominate OR second one member per position. You may not nominate a person and second another person in the same thread.
• Each position will be open for nominations for three days - Monday through Wednesday. To be considered for the position a member must be nominated and seconded. You may nominate or second only one person per position.
• A person may hold only one position.
• The voting period for each position lasts four days, and runs Thursday - Sunday.
• Mods & Admins are not eligible for positions. Please don't nominate them.
• Members who have retired from the Starting Lineup will not be eligible for positions. Please don't nominate them.
• Banned members are not eligible for positions. Please don't nominate them.
• A person may not hold the same position they held last year. They may be on the team again, but if so they'll have to be in a new position. We're doing this to keep the Starting Lineup fresh and fun, and because there are a LOT of folks who could hold these positions.
• Please, no self-nominations.
• Campaigning for a position is allowed in the designated Campaigning Thread only. Any campaigning found outside that thread, whether in Status Updates, sigs, whatever, will be met with swift, harsh and unforgiving discipline (you'll be forced to wear a Colorado Buffaloes avatar for a month).

We're always open to new ideas so let us know what you think so we can laugh at you consider your proposal.
