  1. I worry about the way the leagues reaction to Covid-19 will impact recruiting for everyone in the conference excluding OSU. When there's even an inkling that there might not be football, what reason does a kid from Florida have to stay in Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, or Michigan? Even though we started the season, the fact that the league has this much power over the universities, instead of the other way around, in my eyes, is problematic. Football is the only reason those 4* corners were in Nebraska and if we weren't going to have a season, why stick around? Honestly, the B1G's decision on the season sounded like something the NCAA would pull. It was completely out of left field, and for a while, it appeared there was nothing that anyone could do about it.
  2. I bet they have an off kilter smell about them, too. Not like they're stinky, but like there's just an off putting aroma. One that's hard to pin down, but that is definitely there. Everyone knows what I'm talking about.
  3. Are we just posting videos of pump up songs? If so, then this...
  4. It's an equally bad look for our fan base to be making comments without knowing what's going on in the background. It's unreasonable to expect kids to not respond to shade on social media, and it's equally unreasonable to expect fans to not throw shade. Kids are going to be kids, and fans are going to be fans. Not much anyone can do about that.
  5. I'm not sold on the Joseph argument. That entire coaching staff will be looking for jobs in three years when they don't win another national championship. Larry Coker was the HC at Miami in 2001 and was out of there five years later because they couldn't replicate a generational talent that was on that roster. Burrow, the receivers, and the defense were a once in a generation perfect storm. Not many QB's have the skill or confidence to say that if the DB isn't looking, his receivers are open. I doubt whoever is coming in behind Burrow will be even in the same universe as him. I'm not saying Joseph is a bad coach, I'm just saying that I like Lubbick better because he has demonstrated consistent success at his other previous stops.
  6. This, and that at UCF he didn't have the budget he has at Nebraska. I respect him for being loyal, but I also respect him for leveraging his resources to do the best job he can do.
  7. Wow. Not many names on that list from like 2005 to 2015. Hmm...wonder what was happening in that timeframe?
  8. For you recruiting gurus, what would a 5-star done to our recruiting rankings? Also, were we even in the room with any of the 5-stars this year?
  9. This is the single funniest thing I've read on the internet in 2019. That sounds like a burgeoning subcategory of porn. Oh my god, I'm crying laughing over here. The answer is two years, and he's chasing the career yards mark set by Stanley Morgan last year. I think he's something like 400 yards away from catching him.
  10. I agree. He was not indefinitely suspended like the two other guys. I'd say there's a good chance he's on the field next year.
  11. I'll give Mo credit. He wasn't great but at least he wasn't ever one of the guys standing around watching the play happen. That's a low bar, but at least he's above it!
  12. Do you think this has any correlation with them increasing the playing time of the true freshmen in the last few games? I don't have the stats but they played more true freshmen in those last 3-4 games than they did all year while trying to preserve their redshirt. If there is correlation, I think the future is brighter at the end of the season than it was at the start.
  13. I agree and will add that they want the wins that came with Dr. Tom. What they're forgetting is how long it took to get over the hump. The last three seasons have been uncharacteristically bad, and while I don't know if Osborne had season like the last three, he certainly had his struggles. I think people are having a really hard time with the fact that Nebraska for the past 7-8 seasons hasn't been a destination for players to move on to the next level and that it is going to take longer than they expected for Frost to get back to national prominence.
  14. I'm hopeful for 6-6 but 4-8 isn't hard to imagine, either.
  15. Agreed on Jurgens. I'd be surprised if Piper is at tackle because he's only 6'4ish but who knows what to expect anymore. I think they just want big, nasty, athletic linemen and Ethan definitely fits that description.
  16. Is Piper in serious contention for a starting role next year? If so, he's got the weight room ethic down. I saw a video from Duval of him squatting 595 pretty easily. He was a freak athlete at Catholic and was one of the fastest kids on the team. I think he'd make a great pulling guard because of his speed. He's also got that nasty that we want in a pipeline member.

  18. A blown up Nebraska license plate that says "THE SQURST" It's short for "The Squarest" but people will read it as "The Squirts." That would be funny.
  19. I agree with you on Ethan. I watched him chase down a kid on a punt return and caught him at the 3 yard line. He came out of nowhere and beat his own defensive back to the ball. I'd be surprised if he stays on defense. He looks like more of a guard, to me.
  20. Is this OSU wr coach secret account on here? No. Trolls are trolls, but at least they're literate.
  21. I think this is one of the primary differences in this staff vs Pelini's staff. Riley and co are positive and upbeat and it seems like his recruiting classes have that same look and feel. Pelini constantly had that chip on his shoulder that the world was against him and his teams eventually took that same attitude. That's why the blowout losses would occur - once they got punched in the mouth, they accepted defeat and got steamrolled. Not saying Riley hasn't had his share of blow outs, but you don't see him melting down on the sideline preceding a blowout. Geno can recruit the best players in the country year after year but he can only have 5 women on the court at once. It's interesting that the difference between those that play and those that don't, is attitude and body language.
