  1. Kind of seems like it was with the media first, which in turn made the fans lash out towards Bo for not handling things more "appropriately" or doing a better job of representing the university. Don't get me wrong, Bo has dug his own grave with the fans with audiogate and some of the other things he's said, but this whole "Bo Pelini is a big angry meanie" mentality has been perpetuated by the media.
  2. Supposed to fly to Denver tonight. Hoping my flight doesn't get cancelled.

It should be stopped by then. One last band coming through north suburbs now. But it's COLD.

  3. One of the biggest things I want to see change, that you left out, is Special Teams. We have to have some of thee worst ST in the country and I just don't understand how you can be so bad at it. We struggle to succeed with even the most basic aspects of Special Teams. I'd list all the things we do terribly on ST but it would probably be easier to list the things we do well (which is next to none).
  4. +1. My feelings exactly. He's more than likely here to stay for one more year whether people like it or not. Might as well show some support for him and the team. It certainly doesn't do the program any favors to continue to talk about how much better we could do, how bad Bo's antics are, yada yada yada. If he doesn't get it done next year, he will be out the door. As long as the players continue to support him, I will too. If they ever stop supporting him, well, then we really are in trouble.
  5. I would also be okay with this. Not sure there would be a better person to fill this particular position.
  6. Read the article for even more reasons why he won't be here.... I agree we don't need Tressel here but why are you reading some hack writer from Bleacher Report? Well even people you consider hacks can post actual facts in their articles. In this case, he presented facts and a couple opinions that people can agree or disagree with. So why are you questioning why I'm reading Bleacher Report when the facts presented in the article cannot be refuted? No one would want him as a coach here if he can't take us to the post season. No one would want him as a coach here if he can't coach for half the games in a season. No one wants a magnifying glass hanging over our program (up for debate on whether that would happen or not). Fans and mainly boosters wouldn't stand for it. I don't want Bo gone at this point but if he were to get the boot, Tressel is numero uno on my want list. Maybe it's just the people I have talked to but it seems to me there are more in the hire Tressel boat than the stay away from him boat. I know plenty of people, myself included, who would still take Tressel regardless of the two reasons you listed. I have confidence that Tressel would bring competent enough assistants with him to run the show in his abscence. Look at all the assistants that are running the show in the abscence of Head coaches this year and doing a damn good job of it (i.e. Jerry Kill, Ed Orgeron). It may not be the best season but I think most people would be willing to give up one season to return to being a great football team again. Granted there are no guarantees that Tressel is the answer but he sure has the resume to back it up and that's a chance I'd be willing to take. I agree that no one wants a magnifying glass hanging over the program but in a way it could be a good thing. If we are concerned with Tressel committing violations once he's here, what better way to deter that than to have the program under a microscope?
  7. Maybe with the rest of the D improving, JRose playing risky won't be as disastrous. I hope so, Mitchell just isn't on par with the rest of our CB at this point. Somehow the guy who was called the "best cover guy we have" at the beginning of the year by the coaches is the biggest liability in the secondary. A secondary that includes a converted WR and a Freshman Safety. I think Mitchell has played fine - good but not great. He's no lockdown corner but neither is SJB. I agree that Mitchell has been good but not great. I think he could be great if he wasn't so undersized, that seems to really be his biggest SHORTcoming (sorry couldn't help myself).
  8. I thought TA has been playing with a bad knee, and is expected to have surgery in the off season? He had that surgery last year but rumor/speculation is that he's still not back to 100% from it.
  9. I watch a decent amount of MMA fights and am pretty familiar with it all, however I don't know exactly how the scoring works. I watched this entire fight and by watching (not fully knowing the scoring) I would have to say Hendricks won. Did you see GSP's face compared to Hendricks at the end of the fight? That's usually a pretty good indication of who won in a fight. I was pretty wasted so I can't remember what his exact words were, but the first thing Joe Rogan said to Hendricks after the fight, was something along the lines of how he should have been the one who won that fight and asked him how he felt not being declared the winner. When Joe Rogan says you won, chances are you won, whether you were declared the winner or not. Do I think Hendricks won? Sure do. Do I think it was the worst decision ever? No, not even close. It was a really good fight and pretty even for the majority of it.
  10. He will. His draft stock will vastly improve if he plays another year (barring injury obviously). He even said about a week ago, that he doesn't think he's playing to his full potential yet. Personally, I don't think it's a good idea for very many players to enter the draft before their Junior year. Most Sophmores are still pretty raw and that extra year does wonders for them.
  11. +1. Very much agree with this post, especially the bolded. Can't believe how well they played.
  12. So I feel like the general feeling is that the players lost this game, not so much the coaching. I blame both. You don't try to run out the clock when you are down by a td in the first half, with 3:30 left to go and 3 timeouts. I don't understand that logic at all and don't think any other team would do that.

Landlord is wrong. We were trying to run the clock out. We started with 3:30, gained 10 yards in 2:30 and were running the play clock down before each snap.

  13. Be nice if they both commit before they leave. Could be a big recruiting weekend for us. Lol. After tonight, I doubt it.
  14. I don't know for sure, but I think that's an error on the article's end. My educated guess is that this is funded by the Iron N, which is a student group, and uses student allocation money. I'm pretty sure the towels that were handed out at last years Michigan game were provided by the University. Here's a picture of the towels from last year. I could be wrong but I'm not sure the students would put the Highway Safety stuff at the bottom unless they were somehow able to help pay for the towels by advertising that. Yes, but the towels handed out before that, to only the students during the Wisconsin game, said 'Iron N' on them with nothing else. They went over really well so the athletic department decided to try it again throughout the entire stadium. Ah, I gotcha. I remember them handing out the towels for the Wisconsin game but I never actually saw one.
  15. This game is definitely not a gimme. I think MSU will play us rather tough but for some reason I just have this feeling that this ends up being one of the best looking wins Nebraska has had under Pelini.

  17. Leroy Alexander really caught my eye coming off the edge on a couple blitzes. Gardner had very little time to do anything on those plays. I would definitely like to see more of that.
  18. Huskers are up 24-14 at half but struggle to make adjustments for the second half. We barely hold on to hand Michigan their first home loss. Huskers win 27-24.

  19. Actually if you chart out the season we play better when Curry is in there. FIFY Actually if you chart out the season we play better when Curry is in there when Randle isn't in there.
  20. Didn't realize we played ISU this year We don't. It's Michigan, Michigan St, Penn St, and Iowa. Everyone wants Bo to win a conference title and a bowl (including me). The only way that happens is if they get to the CCG (simple logic, but true). I know. It was meant to be sarasm, sorry shoulda used this instead
  21. There's nothing cool about Michigan
  22. I am not sure how crazy it will be at the big house, those fans are very much sick and tired of hoke right now and if they don't start out hot, it could be pretty quiet. They may be sick of Hoke (kind of like how some are sick of Bo) but they are still playing Nebraska and they probably want to beat us just as bad as we want to beat them. I hate to compare Michigan fans to Nebraska fans but just for fun, if this game was at home and we had just lost to Northwestern last week, don't you think Memorial would still be rockin' this week? People would be calling for Bo's head left and right and be saying the season is shot. Even then, I still think the place would be going wild because of who we were playing, not so much the implications of the game. Michigan and Nebraska seem to be in a very similar place football wise right now. Both are questioning their coaches and I think match up fairly well on both sides of the ball. It's been talked about other places on here but opposing teams and fans definitely get up to play us and most of all, beat us. Especially when this game will really be the defining game for both team's seasons going forward. I still think The Big House is gonna be crazy.
  23. Yep and never even saw the there field b/c he had too many off the field issues. Don't think they realized what they were getting themselves into with him.
