  1. Spoken like a true Iowa fan. You see, we already have that in Frost. We don’t want to merely be chasing conference titles here and there every decade. We want it all. The debate is weather Frost is just a Ferentz or if he can can grow into a Saban. We already know any Tom d!(k or Harry can get this program to mediocre. We watched the worst coaches in school history do it with Carly, Riley and Bo. We want better than that. There aren’t a lot of coaches better than that who want to take this on. That’s the problem. What WE really need to get rid of is YOU.
  2. I think the only thing his current status has proven is that he is not a coaching savant, a la Saban/Bilicheck. With the culture turnover, tranfer portal, NIL, and the Covid year, I think there was enough unexpected wtf to go ahead and look at the way this team plays now compared to 2018 and see we are much improved and give him a slight pass for growing as a new P5 coach in seriously the most tumultuous 5 years of NCAA football ever. What I think remains to be seen is, is a really good coach? I'm willing to give him next year to see if he's willing to continue to correct mistakes he has made grow as a coach and lead the program that he fits perfectly in if he can turn that corner.
  3. Not trolling at all. Just think Leach fits Nebraska culture almost worse than Riley, and his offense fits here worse than that. Frustrated that Purdue and Illinois win today and leave me unable to even decide if the conference is just so even that I can't even be mad at Frost or that this conference is just so even that I think he is the worst. For the first time in 15 years, I don't see an easy way out any way we turn.
  4. Everybody read a blog and now is an mother fing expert.
  5. Mike Leach is the worst human ever and if Scott's USF offense is ineffective in the Big10, Leach's would be even worse. It won't beat the fing meat grinder that is Big10 defense. I used to think all of the hullabaloo over Big12 vs Big10 was just that... But man, this damn conference sucks. It is so damn physical.. So many opportunities for slip ups and they will make you pay. It's crazy here. If you have a gimmick offense, it will get tripped up here and there. If you chose to go ground and pound, eventually it will be bested by something more creative. The only way to win here is to recruit 4-5 stars consistently and just out talent everybody else.. So.. We need to get a great coach that had enough name capitol to bring in the A listers. #Sabanorbust! Otherwise.. Scott is going to be good.. But it's 5 years out still. I hope he can eek out enough to get that time.
  6. Good. I don’t much care if kept or shown door. I feel there are compelling arguments for either. I do feel the noise surrounding it all is more harmful at this point than a decision on 2022 coach either way. Announcement that he stays may go down with many like a rotten turd, but it will halt the vitriol and allow everybody to come to terms with the reality. Frost could have halted all of this by being a more successful coach. But if he’s not going to do it, it’s on Trev to nip this mess in the bud.
  7. I love where your head is at. I’ll be beyond happy is they all don’t fold tomorrow. OSU is by far the most dominant team we will face this year and they come at a great time for them and the worst time for us. I am about the most optimistic Husker fan I know, and even I can’t find much worth hoping for tomorrow. That said, I’ll be in memorial cheering my heart out. I wish I could follow another team. It would hurt sooo much less. But there will be no happiness in my Saturday’s until the Huskers don’t suck.
  8. I should be considered for next HC.. I may not even go 3-9, but, I would sure love those paychecks for a bit. I'm from Nebraska too, so, it's a pretty good story.
  9. How about this... Bill O'brian is the hire but Frost stays on as OC because he love NU and just wants to see it shine.. Then he takes back over in 10 years when he's ready and O'Brian tries his hand one more time in the NFL at the Jags or the Browns or some equally woeful NFL franchise that can never have a successful coach. Make it happen, Trev
  10. The real problem for Frost is that we are about to get SMOKED by OSU. We will showcase our team of kids that have heard all of the hype and excuses six too many times and end up quitting in the 2nd quarter after Toure, of all people, fumbles away our second turnover. Then, in a prime snowball situation, we head into another bye week, which means the vitriol that is already getting tired post Purdue gets injected with steroids and cocaine and we get to stew in that cesspool for 2 weeks. The fever pitch will build so that Frost will be gone by next Saturday. The good news is, Chinander and Lubick will beat both Wiscy and Iowa on an interim basis, regression to the mean and all of that, so at least we do get 5 wins. We actually will not back into a bowl that way so will get to end the season on a bit of an uptick but also devastated that we don't get post season, again, pure Nebraska level stuff. Some will call me a prophet, but really, I'm just a fan that can't quit this stupid team.
  11. Going from Frost to Freeze. Chilling.
  12. Hope someday we get over this. Joe isn't Joe if he comes here in the first place and certainly he doesn't make the past 3 year record any better either. There was no savior for Scott Frost at the QB position outside of Adrian and he's close but just not quite it.
  13. Not this week. the Frost walk of Shame will lead to new lows.
  14. Sure. I mean. Obviously it takes both. And I believe we are working on building the O-Line. But even with a great o line, there aren’t many Ezekiel Elliotts or Derrick Henry’s out there, so if that is your goal for backs an NU, you aren’t going to be happy very often. But yes. Right now we don’t seem to be very strong in either department.
  15. 6-8 ypc and breakaway speed is a bit dreamy imo. That doesn't happen very often.
  16. Ya, that is where the article lost me. It only talks about all 4 years lumped together, not broken out at all by year which doesn't lend credence to the entire point it is trying to make which is that Scott is spinning his wheels. We are top 50 in turnovers lost this year which includes an extra game over many teams, but he rails on the turnover rate over the duration. We are much improved but that doesn't fit his narrative so he instead packages it to look super negative. He does that throughout the article.. It's a lazy hit piece, nothing more.
  17. I’ve heard this sentiment for 20 some years and I’m just not sure it’s near as significant as our fan base makes it out to be. 10 practices 6 months prior to spring practices are not the end all be all we make them out to be. It’s just mud we sling around when we are grumpy and bored in early December.
  18. I think it just depends a bit on if you buy that he wanted to take the long road and do a tear down and complete rebuild to continue to try to patch together with the parts he had. He said he wanted a tear down and rebuild to get it right. He was given 7 years to do that. He tore it down, for sure. He didn't play guys that thought they were bigger than the program, he didn't play guys that handled themselves poorly off the field, he didn't play guys that weren't putting in the work in training and practice, etc. Some of them got their heads right and worked harder. Some of them bolted. But it left an already pretty bare cupboard now really bare, no doubt about it. He tore it down, and I believe the product on the field looks like he's building it back up. Most of the guys that bolted didn't get their heads right anywhere else which lends a bit of credibility to Scott's side of things. I think if you really look, outside of the wins and losses, at what has taken place over 3 years, you have to be pretty proud of it. A lot of people getting bent out of shape over records but I really think that, going 6-4 or 7-5 isn't all that different from going 5-7 in the grand scheme of things. Either way you don't have a football team that is really competing for anything other than a participation trophy. What we really want is to be 11-1. So who cares if Riley's record was better, or Bo's, or even Billy C's. Even with better records we still were a joke. We don't feel like a joke this year for the first time in 10-15 years. If we can build on where we are currently at, we can start moving the win number in my opinion, and then hopefully the doubters will come on over.
  19. Like, seriously. If we went through and made a list of game changing mistakes over the past 4 years, I wonder what percentage of them are on Adrian? It doesn't have to be just one per game. Like, the safety at Minnesota.. That is Adrian for sure. But CTB's throw out of the endzone, the muffed punt and the wrong direction punt, etc.. Dropped TD passes, etc. I don't have time right now to go through and look at even the top 4 horrible plays on a per game basis in these losses, but it would be interesting to look at it somewhat objectively.
  20. I've spoken in other threads about how that time frame isn't as realistic nor as easy as many like to make it.
