All conferences besides the SEC have major fear over the 4 best teams playing for a championship. It is millions of dollars on the line. Major conferences have been able to strong arm more than their share of bowl revenue but now that it might actually be about competition they are turning into politicians.

I like the plus 1 idea. Or why not do the four highest ranked team with the provision that one conference can have a max of 2 teams compete in the 4-team playoffs?

That will never happen, the 5 WR part, but this is where our coaches need to step their game up. I'd rather have superior coaching vs the who's who of the rivals 250. That's not to say I don't want some of those guys.
