  4. I will say this, Riley is totally nailing the recruiting trail. I never heard this much buzz with recruiting with Bo. Looking forward to seeing what his kids can do.

Maybe its just how its laid out. Because i get recruting updates and i dont ever remember getting this many updates during the last few years.

      Huskball

I think the constant updates have something to do with the excitement. Most of the commits are from the Pelini staff, they just seem new because we are re-confirming them.

Bo aged because the fans were bad people. the media was out to get him, and the Athletic Director didn't support him. Riley won't need those excuses when he's done here.

  12. Thankyou to everyone who posted about the dog situation. The decision was pretty much taken away from me. Iowa humane society called me and informed me that the dog needed to be quarantined for 14 days to be sure about rabies. They gave us the chose between one of there shelters and the shelter where we got him from. We had to tell the kids and eventhough they were upset we decided to surrender him back to the place where we got him.

We probably will try again but i think were going to wait until after the holidays. Let things settle down a bit. The kids understand more, hell i think my wife was the most upset. She had bonded pretty well with the dog and it broke her heart he bit her.

Wise decision. Merry Christmas and thanks for at least trying to adopt a dog. I know there are many more where that one came from. God bless your wife and family during this Christmas season.

  13. Anyone have any experience with dogs. We picked up a dog from the Humane Society 3 days ago and today it bit my wife. It has been snarling alittle at my children. Some people say that training will fix this but im not so sure. As my wife is headed to the ER to get a rabies shot im asking you if this is a dog i should keep around and give another chance or send it down the road. No im not stupid but im trying to understand if the dog felt threatened and lashed out.

BRPW, I think if you explain to your kids why you're taking the dog back, I think they'll understand.

    3. ladyhawke

      ladyhawke

Take it in for a rabies test first to see if it is infected. Your wife will not have to have rabies shots if the dog is not infected. Then take it back to the shelter. I agree that it sounds like this dog has been abused-poor thing. :(

    4. tschu

      tschu

NUance that's not what I'm talking about. Of course I agree that Wagon shouldn't keep the dog.

Yes, smart reasonable people on one side and stupid Bo defenders on the other. Thought they would go the way of the dodo but no dice. Still providing written proof of their idiocy.

    3. walksalone

      walksalone

only idiocy I see is the fact that you're upset over a guy who isn't the coach anymore...

    4. JJ Husker

      JJ Husker

I just don't understand why people are defending his actions. I am dumfounded that peoplease feel the need to do that. I would much rather forget he was ever our coach but the defenders are sucking me in.

I'm not concerned over Cook. in 2013, he made a handful of TomBradyish throws. last year he was pretty meh agaisnt us, aside from one blown coverage by us. Our defense did what it had to do to win in East Lansing that night. Exactly what it had to do. Held Spart under 30. and aside from 3 really bad defensiive scoring plays, we played pretty darn good defensively.

    3. NUance

      NUance

Cook is talented, despite the lack of stats against us the past couple of meetings. His legs mask a lot of weaknesses in Sparty's offense.

    4. swmohusker

      swmohusker

If our pass defense takes a step back, which I expect it to next year then this is a major concern. Cook can carve you up. (Run defense will improve, pass defense will decline with new scheme)

  16. I will say this, Miami did have swagger. Though way misplaced they did have swagger.

  18. On a side note, can you imagine the state of OSU at this point. Not only is Riley poaching most of his staff and some adm staff. But all the recruits he recruted for OSU im sure hes gonna try to get some of them to come to nebraska. OSU is way worse off then we are right now.

What, we cant be critical about a hire or who he chooses to associate himself with. Jesus we (including me) have been doing it to bos staff for years. Why the hell should we quit now.

    3. beanman

      beanman

Based on actual results, yes. Last I checked, this guy just started and hasn't coached a game yet. Very few were critical of Bo until the last couple years. I wouldn't expect you to remember that though, as you are apparently a nutbar based on the crap you post. Like I said, go get a job. Or a hobby. I hear making meth is fun.

    4. BigRedPowerWagon

      BigRedPowerWagon

But pretty sure he has coached alot of games before that so what we cant critique that. What are you the lord of huskeboard we cant evaluate what a guy has done in his career. And add alittle humor to it as well. Jesus man, keep the personal insults to yourself. Ive never insulted you or anyone else on here so its not warranted.

  19. I think deep down we are all leary and unsure of some of the things going on here on the football team. But we all want the same thing, we want to win. We want to be a resemblance of who we once were. That alone should unit us. We might have different opinions on how that should happen but that is all we want. Take it for what its worth.

  20. Riley knew that, but everyone also knew that that major change wouldn't include firing Riley, as the University couldn't afford to pay him for 7 more seasons, as they were contractually obligated to do so, unless someone else paid the buyout bill. And it had come to the point where some of his assistants could not continue, though that's the kind of change Riley didn't want to make.

      HANC

I think he may be saying that Riley may have worn out his welcome in OSU, and that some of his assistants…..DC..(cough cough) needed to be fired, but Riley was too loyal…..soooo,.. Coming to Nebraska was an easy way out of a situation that was getting tougher day by day…. then he decides to bring those guys here….just trying to decipher the poetry of Powerwagon?

  21. So people have said Callahan was the worst hire ever, others have said Bo was the worst. I have a feeling that if things dont go the right way with cordinators and if this crew is out of there league as far as the pressure this job takes. We could be way worse off then we were with any of those guys. I hope im wrong.

      JJ Husker

You're probably right. If all our current players leave and if we replace them with all the Oregon State targeted recruits and if Riley fills out his staff with a bunch of idiots and if and if and if and if. Real f'ing productive discussion ehh?

  22. Anyone else looking at the Ohio st players and thinking there really Husker players. LOL
