  1. The local station when I was a kid was a country station out of Ord, KNLV. So all we listened to was country music. I hated most of it, but I did like this song.
  2. When I saw the title of the thread I read it as you saying he was a great former Husker. So, when I saw it was Nick Pavendo I thought, 'his opinion of great is very generous.' Then I read it again and understood you were being facetious.
  3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xrSWTEiC5QM The chairman of the Football Federation of Australia falls off the stage at the trophy ceremony after the A League final. The captain of the winners Melbourne Victory just stares at him instead of seeing if he's ok.
  4. What about those tweets would make you jump to the conclusion he's upset about a commit that hasn't even signed yet? It could be about anything. You may be right, I'm just asking because that's not where my thoughts went when I saw them.
  5. You are making me feel worse! Not better!OSU was fourth in players drafted but finished eighth or lower in recruiting from 08-12*. So you could look at it as Riley is better at coaching up players than other coaches, or that he's better at evaluating talent than recruiting services. *these are PAC12 rankings of course.
  6. Well we've already seen over-thinking and undisciplined defense. Let's try some play fast read and react defense. If it's also undisciplined it still might be more affective than the last few years.
  7. I was looking at the coaching page at huskers.comand noticed that it listed Shann Schillinger as a graduate manager. I went to school at the University of Montana, and while I was there they had a player with that name. He later was drafted by the Falcons. My question is, is this the same guy? It's not a common name, and it appears that Shann isn't in the NFL any more. Also what is a graduate manager? A glorified water boy or equipment manager? I'm not sure this warrants a new thread but I was hoping someone closer to Lincoln might have some insight.
  8. I agree with your point, but just for clarification, Coach Davis coached tight ends and o-line more recently than running backs.
  9. Can anyone explain cricket to me, or even how to read the scores?

No. Nobody understands it or can explain it. It's not even a real thing.

The first number is how many outs there are, the second number is the score. So 5/120 (read as "5 for 120") means 5 men are out and 120 runs have scored. To make it more confusing, some countries (England I think) reads it backwards, i.e. 120/5, or 120 for 5. An over is just six balls thrown. Think of it as six pitches. World Cup cricket is a one day match, which is 50 overs for each side, or 300 balls. You hit until you make an out. If you get 10 guys out before you get to 300 balls...

Then you switch sides, like baseball. I never cared much for the sport when I lived in Melbourne, but when it was on it was literally the only thing anybody talked about. I learned some basic rules so I didn't look clueless.

  10. I naturally get more attached to guys that really want to go to Nebraska, so I hope we offer him again. This will be a big class and I think there is room to take an extra RB/WR athlete. He may not fit the exact mold physically, but he can move. Let's get him N.
  11. Out on the road today, I saw a DEADHEAD sticker on a Cadillac

Who sang it better: Don Henley or The Ataris?

Knapp.....that's not the next lyric in the song.

      Don Henley. IMHO.

  12. Stanton competed in the ELITE 11 but if I'm not mistaken wasn't one of the 11 selected. Darlington still stutters from his concussions. We were the only big name school who offered unranked AJ Bush. Our starter isn't as Good as tOSUs 3rd stringer. http://espn.go.com/college-sports/recruiting/football/story/_/id/8268974/final-elite-11-rankingsNot only was he one of the 11 selected, he was top ranked after the first two competitions at the final. Finished ranked eighth and he left early.
  13. Never mind, I see the conversation about it in the main forum.
  14. So neither the huskers.com signing day central, nor the roster lists Noah Johnson as a walk-on. Is it just his word that he's been given a preferred walk-on offer?
  15. How do you know that Stanton, Bush, and Darlington have 'hardly any talent'? We haven't seen anything from them and we'll have an entirely different offense this year.
  16. HCMR says we're at 85 scholarships. If I'm understanding what he said.

I was thinking additional departures or transfers that just haven't been reported yet. Some people have said things like Cross or Cotton or Finnin, but I don't know if there's anything there more than speculation.

If *you're* stumped, though, Mav, I just don't know!

Saw someone else mention another possibility: a walk-on who got a scholarship last year no longer has one.

  17. Bump, because I always have to go hunting for this thread.
  18. Yeah, it turns out I was watching the wrong web cam.
  19. I think Tavita Thompson was just on there petting a stone rooster.
