      I'll do it for $425.

      You can do it!

  2. Thank you for that information. I was wondering about that and I live in Omaha. If you had to guess, would you say a 1,500 sqft home would be how much to side? I pretty much quit doing vinyl after the last big hail storm here (2006? Hastings). I was doing it for about $350/sq then so I would estimate probably $450 now and a 1500 sq ft house with 8' ceilings and garage would have approx 20 sq of siding. Taller ceilings and bigger gable ends would bump that up to 22 sq maybe. 20 sq x $450.............. $9000 Soffit and facia board wrap- $2500 Wrap window trim with coil- $1000-1500 Some of the bigger companies will tear off and remove old siding for "free" but you are paying for it somewhere. So, yeah, expensive...okay thanks for the information! I will probably just look into painting it.
  3. I am guessing no one was really surprised! haha
  4. Anyone have a tailgate spot in lincoln this year or looking to sell one?

  5. I put down floors two years ago and new trim...I hated it
  6. Dang, you sound like a boss when it comes to being handy! I basically have no tools at all.

  8. I've put a lot of vinyl siding on over the years. My guess is that your vinyl estimates are going to be in the $10,000-15,000 range for a celebrity home. Fairly expensive . . . but then again so is paying someone to paint the exterior every 3-5 years. Of course you could easily paint or side it yourself (you'd need a buddy or two to help out with the siding). With no experience I'd guess that you could probably side a Celebrity home in ~4-5 days. The pros will probably do it in around half that time. How long do you plan on living there? I'd definitely keep that in mind before dropping too much money. That is a great question, I have no idea how long I will live in this house. 10,000 to 15,000 is a lot more than I would want to spend. Painting I could do on my own with a sprayer and probably knock it out in two days, maybe 3. I have been looking into buying a sprayer
  9. Well, I guess watching the USA play today is an excuse for some drinking!

  10. I don't agree with the "student section means you are drunk" part but the rest I think is spot on. I think that lots of fans that get "harassed" are either overly sensitive OR they were looking for it (in the sense that one fan walking by and shouting GOOOOOO BUFFS, means you were harassed) OR they brought it on themselves by being an idiot Ex: When Indiana beat Nebraska a few weeks back...we were drunk and leaving the BlattBar...we saw the Indiana players and said congrats and walked to our car...one old Hoosier fan yelled out "Yeah, where were you guys when everyone was yelling GOOOO BIG RED" So, that fan was butthurt, but is that really a big deal, fans yelling GO BIG RED...not really...but that fan will go home and tell everyone how Husker fans are jerks.
  11. Oh, sorry, its like a pretty generic cookie-cutter company that makes houses...basically a few different floor plans and the outsides of the houses are all one of the 10 shades of beige
  12. Okay, since I can't go out in public this weekend (cold sore, thank you very much random girl) and since I have been posting a lot about home stuff, I figured we could share some stuff here. I got my house 2.5 years ago. Basically, it is your typical Celebrity home... So in that time I painted most of the rooms Had new carpet put in Put down a paver patio that is maybe the worst thing ever, with a fire pit, which is actually pretty cool but I never use it So recently I painted all my tacky gold light fixtures (7 dollars in spray paint) Stained my deck (about 60 dollars total) I am looking into putting tile down in the 3 bathrooms (probably around 400 dollars total, depending on the tile cost) I think I will redo my pavers since no concrete guy will call me back. Oh, I also changed my gross gold address numbers to silver...5 dollars Big projects will either be vinyl or repaint the outside. Anyone have vinyl put on? I might have a guy come out and give me an estimate.
  13. Well, I never thought I would say this but today I found a super awesome bathroom vanity. I have ZERO "handy man" skills but I might try installing it...I just put it right next to the old vanity, right?

Really if you have any coordination and half a brain, fixing up your house and minor car repairs aren't too difficult.

  15. Depends on how you define it. Honestly, I get sick of Husker fans that feel it is their "duty" to "educate" other teams fans. Just relax, drink up, eat, have fun.
  16. Can't you just do real estate on your own now? Or is that not something you want to do?
  17. Update: Light Fixtures went from gold to a sweet Flat Finish Antique Silver, looks great, ask ColoHusk, I showed him. Cost 7 dollars, added value to house, .50 cents. Also, me and my buddy pissed about 10 times in the pool. Time for volleyball! 12 game winning streak!

  18. Today: Light fixtures get change...then it is pool time! After getting a swoll-sesh in at the gym! And yes, I use the pool in place of a shower...and in place of a urinal!

  19. Out of the blue - in hindsight, I feel that I should have seen it coming... About a year ago they hired an assistant for me who I trained for about 90 days. After my son was born in January, they told me that they knew I wanted to work from home more because of the baby (about an hour commute each way), so they gave me a new position working on major projects while my assistant took over for the current listings work (real estate firm). I was working 4 days a week from home, making templates to make everything easier (hint) and last week they gave me a big list of all the projects we had to do. Then, Monday morning, I get a call stating that one of the print companies said if they move all the printing there, they would do the graphic design as well. So I got a "We don't think we're gonna be able to keep you busy, so we're gonna pay you out." That sucks...I have a friend that went through the same thing...basically, he trained his replacement and he kind of knew it but he wasn't totally sure until it happened.
  20. Best move I have made...making a copy of the key to my old apartment pool!

Concrete work is pretty basic man. If you're doing something simple like a deck or a driveway, set the forms and pour it yourself. Save money, learn something new. Win. Win.

  22. Did you have any clue at all about the lay off? Or was it totally out of the blue?
  23. I used to make up my own "300" hundreds, I kind of stole it from Gym Jones...a gym out in Utah (I think) that uses/has some interesting ideas...I created my 300's and the challenge was based off of my time to complete it. For example...one 300 would look like this 50 reps of barbell bench (I would use 135 and try to get to 50 reps as fast as I could) 50 triceps extension 25 one armed dumbbell bench (Then 25 on the other arm, usually using like, 50 pounders) 50 push ups 50 barbell incline presses (usually like 95 pounds) 50 barbell decline (back to 135) That is a total of 300 reps Anywho, I would start a stopwatch and see how long it took me to complete all 300 reps. Then I made ones for my back, my arms, shoulders, you name it. I would rotate them. I would try to beat the time the next time I did that particular 300....it was usually between like 17 and 25 minutes. You felt like you were going to vomit but they were a fun change.
  24. Shouldnt get long before we get the... Looks like his form is off when he is carrying those tires or I heard that he only benches 450...when I was a senior in high school my football team had 5 guys that all did 460
